Please Bring Back Suggestions Forum
I’ve also noticed that a lot of the suggestions made in that forum end up getting implemented in the game
I’ve seen the complete opposite to that. I’ve seen some threads with great suggestions just sitting there till the end of times without ever making any difference.
Instead of having all suggestions in one area, ANet now wants the suggestions to be put in the appropriate section and in this section if ther is not a specific section for the suggestion.
Suggestion forum was where threads went to die. I don’t think the devs even knew about it. It will be much better for the suggestions to be posted in their own categories so the correct dev will actually see it.
Your ability to post suggestions hasn’t been taken away, but it will be easier for devs to sift through suggestions if posted in the appropriate subforum now.
eg Living Story suggestions were better in the LS subforum. And got greater discussion from the community.
suggestions have been replaced by CDI’s which is much better imo.
also outside CDI’s you can always post a suggestion in the appropriate sub forum.
No one reads the suggestions forum, AKA threads graveyard. The fact that the devs just binned it meant they didn’t get much out of it themselves.

I actually do kind of like the idea of putting suggestions in forums that relate to those suggestions. However, if the suggestion is about something which has no appropriate sub-forum, like PvE, then it can only be posted in the “Guild Wars 2 Discussion” forum and get buried under a ton of other threads. Reading the “Guild Wars 2 Discussion” forum is like sifting through avalanche debris, IMO. There are actually 4 and a half pages of threads in the “Guild Wars 2 Discussion” forum that have replies only 1 day old (I checked). That is a ton of threads with extremely recent posts and then there are even more when you also consider the ones that have posts only 2 or 3 days old.
It’s been moved to the Archive Forum section for some reason, so now nobody can post anything more in there. Please bring it back. That forum is the only reason I ever post here. I’ve also noticed that a lot of the suggestions made in that forum end up getting implemented in the game, so clearly ArenaNet was benefiting from it by getting good ideas.
response to bolded text- no, there were not. not even a fraction of decent suggestions, some repeatedly asked for, were implemented over the past year. that section was like the junk mailbox for e-mails.
