I REALLY, do not want a friggin, bo staff as the elite thief specialization, why can we have a ranged weapon?, i really hope the datamined picture just supposed to be something else. LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTS RIFLE,im sure more people want rifle than people that want anything else.

What are theif lacking a 1200 ranged weapon no specilisation have had the same weapon so bow is out what is left?

I would guess a rifle but anet seem to make the oddest range weapons. ( Im looking at you greatsword and hammer)

I would laugh so hard if thief got dual torch as 1200 range weapons =)

I do not think that thief getting a staff is a bad thing.

The Revenant staff was already revealed as a melee staff user, so I think the thief may be getting a bit of a ranged staff option, perhaps called the Shadowmage, or something to the likes. I believe this to be because the Revenant is the new hotness, and they don’t want to dilute the new hotness by giving melee staff ALSO as an elite spec for another class.

I do believe their staff option is going to be ranged. I can only imagine the uproar if it was another melee option.

I don’t understand, where has it been confirmed that the thief is getting the staff? Because otherwise, I see no reason for this thread.

It hasn’t been confirmed, but a currently unused background picture for the thief has been datamined and shows the thief holding what seems to be the staff that was datamined a while ago. Thats why everyone is currently flipping out.

Yes you are right about the staff being ranged and it will be the ranger spec Druid as stated in the expansion video from january.

Sorry good sir, you can hope, but it’s highly doubtful. It is wearing a thief armor set, as well as using the same “colors” from the thieves current spec backgrounds.

A glint themed shield was already datamined for Revenants and it’s elite spec.

Also, the only background this could be used for is MAYBE the ventari spec line, but there was also a Ventari background already datamined.

You think that’s bad?
