Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
(edited by ronpierce.2760)
I don’t want to come off sounding entitled, but I am getting a little disheartened due to the lack of Achievement points in PvP. I’m top 500 players (US) become pretty well known, and work hard there (High Warlord Sikari) And I’ve even spent my time doing PvE even though I’m not a fan, and got to 80. I’m still only at 2.2k achievement points. Throw the PvPers a bone, please. All I’ve wanted from this game in a LONG time is that helm, just let us pick 1 of any of the 6 pieces, since we’d still have to grind another few thousand or two just to get another piece of gear, I don’t think letting us pick our own path to them would be that big of a deal. I REALLY don’t want to grind my life away in PvE in this game just to feel slightly rewarded for my efforts in PvP.
The same even goes for Grinding my heart out in sPvP. I would like to be more rewarded for skill rather than time spent in hotjoins. But that’s already being looked at. I’m just pleading because I can’t take much more of this endless grind. I like PvP, but it would be nice to get rewarded like everyone else who’s doing what ‘they’ like to do (PvEers).

they really should add in more achievements for all 3 game modes.
1. PvE
2. sPvP
3. WvW
at the moment, most of the achievements points are in PvE.
need more in sPvP and WvW.
PvE’s kind of a big deal…
yeah, I know a large wvw guild leader who’s been leading since launch has less than 1.8k AP
From here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement
Total Count = 481 (including daily, monthly)
PvE = 428/481 = 88.98%
PvP = 37/481 = 7.69%
WvW = 16/481 = 3.33%
only 3.33% achievements for WvW ???
WvW need more achievements !!!
PvE is a big deal, sure, but they’ve been talking about ways to reward PvPers better for ages, this just rubs dirt in our faces. GW2 was marketed in part FOR PvP (because of the PvP success that was GW1)

Okay, while I sympathize with your plight, this at least is not true. Guild Wars 2 was in no way “advertised for PvP”.
Most of the advertising the vast majority of it was PvE. For example, the demos they took to shows for the entire first year were PvE only. While PvP was clearly talked about, the focus was specifically on PvE. And when someone asked Anet why that was the case, why PvP was hardly mentioned, Anet gave this reply (and I’m paraphrasing here).
Guild Wars 1 was known as a PvP game even though for the last years of its existence it received far more attention to PvE. In fact the last two products released by Anet, Nightfall and EotN had no PvP updates at all. The entire expansions were PvE. In Guild Wars was the cash shop and Hall of Monuments achievements were also predominant PvE. Guild Wars 1 went through a transformation and the PvE players were the one actually carrying it forward…which is the reason for the shift. And a lot of PvPers continually complained about how the game had become PvE dominant. It’s well known.
Anet said (and again I’m paraphrasing here), that they spent far more time talking about PvE, because they wanted to break people of the assumption that Guild Wars 2 would be a predominantly PvP game. They did say they would have dedicated teams for both PvP and PvE but the actual promotion was PvE-centered, not PvP centered.
However I do hope that PvP players get more rewards, and options for achievements and better gear.
GW2 is a PVE game.

It’s far worse for WvW, due to the insane requirements for WvW achievements. At this rate most of purely WvW players will end up with achievements consisting of 90%+ dailies and monthlies.
WvW really needs their already existing achievements recalculated (both for achievement points, and equirements), as well as new achievements (including new daily/monthly cathegories) added.
It will still be behind PvE, of course (this is mainly a PvE game, after all), but the point ratio could use a bit of rebalancing.

Wait I haven’t been paying attention to the cosmetics from achievements! Did they seriously make those RNG as well? Seriously?
and yes WvW needs lots more achievements if that’s all they got. This would be yet another example of how they really aren’t doing the “play your way” system in this game.
I hate PVP and I hate WvW but it should be equal all around.
Yeah I’ve kinda been put off PvP for a few months. I mean it’s really fun, but it doesn’t seem to be very rewarding.. at all. Sure it’s a separate game mode, but it is a huge part of the game for some.
