Please Tell Me, How is This Still a Thing?
On the subject of the weapon preview alone, it seems like the preview window shows you standing with the weapon in your right hand by your side no matter what the weapon is, even if your toon would hold it entirely differently in real use. There’s only one pose for all weapons. For example, in-game you’d hold the staff upright when not on your back, but in the preview window it’s always held horizontally, just like a sword. Given that the animation is there to hold it upright, why not use it for the preview. Always wondered.
They at least changed the bow to the correct side… but of course, that barely count as something before all the deficiences on preview windows.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

How often is the air immobilize problem a problem? Every time? I’m only asking because I’ve never personally come across it.

I don’t typically run into in PvE, though I have a few times. Generally speaking, if I’m going to get “air locked” its going to be in PvP where cc’s are flying left, right, and center. And yes, it is absolutely annoying as kitten. The game still registers that you’re in the air, so you can’t activate 99.8% of skills, which means you can’t break out of it. So if you get caught by one of those classes that can really stack the immob (hello druid, I’m looking at you), you basically become nothing more than a punching bag for the opposing team. I won’t say it’s something that happens often, but you are powerless when it does.

It doesn’t happen that often anymore because immobilize is not that prevalent in this meta. Only the druid and the tempest are using aoe immobilize afaik.
Air immob mostly happens when you jump on the crates in the khylo clocktower and someone immobilizes you at the same time.

Not very often but it really doesnt mean that because it is not common, then it doesnt matter, especially when people lose fights because of it.
Yesterday, I was in ranked fighting a thief. I had the thief low so he ported and i activated facet of light so when he ported back i would use infuse light and finish off. The thief ported back and attacked immediately like i thought except that i jumped at the same time to avoid an obstacle and the thief passive trait which immobilizes triggered. I couldnt even use infuse light which has no cast time so i was stuck in mid air unable to do anything and then ended up dying as a result.
I have also been air immobilized on skyhammer a few times playing as a thief and then died. I have also won fights after immobilizing someone in mid air.
Over time this sort of thing has happened enough times to the point where there is no reason why it should be ignored. If they have time to remove Necro’s spectral walk vertical escape, then they have time to fix this.

It’s not common, but when it does happen, you better pray that the immobilize doesn’t last long. If it does, you are basically dead without any kind of fight. The only skill I’ve ever been able to activate while airlocked was the smoke screen from my flamethrower. The rest are simply automatic trait skills.
For me, it’s most noticeably happened on the maps with more verticality or obstacles in the way — spirit watch and battle of khylo. Sometimes terrain glitches play into it, as I’ve seen in Skyhammer.
As to the second point by the OP — I do kinda miss launching my character out of the water with rocket boots. They removed the fun part of launches/pulls and now it’s just annoying physics glitches. It’s also not uncommon to see characters in Thaumanova Reactor launched to their deaths by a physics glitch.
