I’d really like to see an appearance changer item on the Gem Store in the near future. As I play, get new items, get used to a character I very often get the desire to tweak their appearance. Change hair or eye color, facial details, height, etc. Making a gigantic norn sounded cool at first but by lvl 30 or so I realized it had some drawbacks, so I’d ‘love’ if I could gain the ability to alter the character with a one-time use item. Same with my Sylvari Elementalist, I just do not like the eye color I chose for him.

So I think a Gem Store item (with a reasonable cost) to allow you to alter the appearance of a character for say $5 worth of gems would be a popular purchase. Anyone else with me on that one?

They would want to, it’s the smart thing to do. Appearance changing is one of the top micro transaction buys in pretty much every MMO I ever played.

They will. Let them get the game fixed up a little bit more, and they’ll start putting more things like this in the Item Market.

EDIT: The reason I say they will is because such items exist in Guild Wars.

Give it a few months when most everybody is level 80 and the gem store will be filled with cosmetics

I realized I want to make my character a lot taller, looking back at the guy I was trying to recreate.

I also think they need more facial hair styles (for crying out loud, there’s, like, 1 actual beard, 3 moustaches and 4 kitten-y looking styles, plus a few types of stubble).

I was trying to recreate Bushido Brown from Boondocks but there wasn’t any beard remotely similar to his, so I just went with the handlebar/hulk hogan-stache.
