Snap! ’Tis done. All those new features, which you so specifically described to perfection, have been created for your pleasure. Not a single detail was overlooked, from the beginning of your list, to the middle, to the very end.

Please add more fun to GW2.

Why take so long to add new fun features?

Can you be as little more specific?
Just what is “fun”?
What you consider fun may be completely boring to someone else, so you need to give a few examples of what you mean by fun or it’s a pretty meaningless post.

Maybe they mean adding something that isn’t a temporary achievement grind or solely for the cash shop?

I agree, but to be ever-so-slightly more specific than the OP…

-We could use more minigames. Not just PvP minigames, but possible PvE minigames. A vanilla example could be – - holding a fort against waves of pve mobs. scavenging loot / items to build barricades and siege weaponry or turrets to help fend them off. Loot chest at the end / progress working towards a unique item or aesthetic gear set specific to that minigame.

-We could use houses — something the player could build, customize, show off achievements in, and sink money into. I would love to be able to design my own home and waste all of my gold in it, it would be fun and help the economy.

-We could use just more non-combat oriented content in general. Maybe new skills — fishing, carpentry to make house items, or even reworking existing skills.

-We could use player-owned shops. Nothing fancy, maybe just a little stand you can setup and players can browse it to see all of your listings you have on the TP. You can support specific players on your server that way.

I don’t know, just some ideas. I would really love to have some form of meaningful progression and content that is not combat-oriented for once. It doesn’t have to have combat to be fun.

Bats. Either as a playable race or as ranger pets, or both. Bats are fun. Bats would save this game. Bats.

And what IS fun? In GW1 ppl had FUN farming for ectos all day long no idea why they do not find it fun to do the same in gw2. In FF11 ppl had fun killing the same 3-5 mobs over and over for exp or spending all day farming the same mob type for loot “sapling farming!” In WoW (never played but watched ppl play it) i would say doing a dungeons that lasted for 4hr + that had to be rested over and over was the fun in that game.

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

Now see, that’s my point. I would not consider player housing or shops fun at all but can understand some would. Just saying you want something “fun” is a not saying much at all.

The problem is that everyone’s idea of fun is different.

I want raids and hardmode dungeons. I want the devs to make content which they’ll think ‘this is ridiculous…..’, then make it a bit harder, and on of that add a hardmode for it.

But, that’s also someone else’s idea of pure frustration.

Why take so long to add new fun features?

What you will inevitably figure out at some point is that fun is entirely subjective to a certain point of view. MMO’s that target everyone end up pleasing no one. You have to know who your target market is and continue to deliver for that market.

It’s clear to me that GW2 is extremely casual. What I dislike about their current strategy however, is how they add long, boring, tedious grinds to the game and hope people buy gems to make it consume less time. This is a hallmark of F2P games especially in Asia where the population is very easily exploitable.

I’m afraid that the subscription model will be making a come back since Arenanet couldn’t find a way to stay profitable without incorporating grinds.

Fun is subjective, but thats why I asked for New Features.

Something new. Not just new additions to old features ( aka new living story. We already have LS. Why not a new feature? We already have JP, and Dungeons. I like something new to go to the list)

Honestly, at this point, I dont even care if the feature is buggy or not. I just want new features to play and enjoy.

No. Please, ANet do not add bats. Bats will never be a playable race because flight would be too hard to balance, so that leaves ranger pets, but I don’t want to be forced into playing ranger to have a pet bat. Please, say no to bats.

New classes, skills, traits, utilities and weapon skills would definitely spice up the game. If there’s one thing I know that can keep players playing is learning how to play with their new toys.

We’re not getting much in terms of quality content in my opinion.

That’s why nothing feels fun. There’s nothing to master. There’s nothing new to learn. It’s the same rides, just the rewards are different. Even when they introduce new rides, they’re gone in a few weeks. Even if they were permanent, they’re too easy and too boring to repeat.

I think the reason why its pure frustration is that you would go through all that trouble to defeat a raid or dungeon instance, and then get NOTHING as a reward except more stuff you have to buy in the gem store.

That’s up to them to place a worthy reward in the raid.

Besides, the first time I conquer a raid, the triumph of doing it is the reward in itself, it’s just the not-so-glorious wins afterwards that needs a reward.

And after the initial euphoria of triumph, when you double click that massive bag from the end raid boss, you would rage like a panda and table flip.

At least you had fun for 2 or 3 hours, right?

Is there some sort of an universal law which says raids can only give you junk?

We have nothing in GW2 at the moment which is actually raid difficulty.

Yes, the triumph is doing it I suppose, i guess if theres no reward, might as well move on to the next game to overcome bigger and better missions then too. No point in playing this one as theres no reason to repeat the dungeon again. lol

That’s why I said ’That’s up to them to place a worthy reward in the raid’.

Now you mention this though, if you think about it, what are the ‘rewards’ you get for doing raids in other games? Gear to gear you up for the next raid. That basically breaks it down to you’re just doing the raid to do the next raid, which is pretty much the same thing as doing each raid once, except for that its more annoying because you gotta grind the first raid over and over.
