I suggest everyone to buy the armor skins off the shop, it is possible that if they sell SIGNIFCANTLY more by selling the skins directly, they could change their marketing strategy to reflect it; which means this could end the RNG issue.

I want them to get the idea that I don’t want to keep seeing RNG boxes, yes, but I’d rather they get the idea that I don’t want to have to BUY with REAL MONEY every single new skin they decide to put out. I understand that they don’t want to bog us down with even more currencies and tokens to have to deal with to buy things, but I bought the game and I bought plenty of things from the store already. I probably won’t be buying anything else (outside that logging axe) until an expansion comes out so I can at least get what I feel is value for my dollar.

In the meantime, I’m just gonna spend my time enjoying whatever story-side and intractable content they put out. I’m finished with this gem business for now.

I would love to buy them, but they are fugly. The light armor set is especially hideous.

If they put up armor sets like Lady Kasmeer’s feathered armor I would buy 5-6 sets of the kitten thing.

I LOVE the light armor on my Asura and will defenitly buy it once I got the money to do so.
I might also get the medium armor for my engineer, and maaaaaybe even for my ranger. The only set I don’t like is the heavy armor, but I can live with that :P

After the new dungeon, I don’t want to support this Living Story at all. Not with money, not with anything positive to say about it, nothing. Logged out and doing something else. (Yeah, complaining on the forums- it MIGHT help.)

I have been considering buying them. Possibly even more than one. Of course, it all depends on how they look on my characters. But since its either 800 gems for a new appearance armor set, or 119g for some rare armor that I’ll use for appearance anyway. 800 gems is a lot cheaper =(

1) Ugly

2) Should be rewarded for in-game efforts (No non-cash shop armor since the games launch)

3) Completely hideous

God. I feel like like if they put the armor in an NPC shop for 50 gold, people wouldn’t be complaining like they do now, even though buying with gems is 50% cheaper with the gold-to-gem conversion.

You know, upon reflection, I think if they broke the 800 gems down into smaller chunks, it would be more effective – and by smaller chunks I mean individual pieces of the armor.

For instance: I don’t care for the armor sets as a whole, although I enjoy the medium’s helmet design. I won’t, however, feel right spending 800 gems (either actual money that could be better spent on food or whatnot, or large amounts of gold when the inevitable up-trend of trade in cost happens) for what would amount to using only 1/6th of the skin. Swapping it out so you could get the skins by component would put them more cost-effective for folks who only want one part of it.

I agree that I’d like to see individual armor pieces sold for less gems, the sum of which could be greater than 800. That leaves 800 as a combo deal.

I’d also be willing to purchase new armor skins, if I liked them. Kasmeer’s armor is a good example.

Sorry, but you don’t speak for most players. I know many people who love the new armors and their steampunk look.

I’d consider it if the skins didn’t look like kitten and if I didn’t vow to not give anet any more of my money.

Haven’t been able to check them out myself, but I’m assuming their account/soul bound upon acquisition, so no chance for people that find them to be fugly to still buy them in an effort to send the message that RNG is the cement paving the bricks laying the path to hell and sell ’em on the TP?

Make JRPG like Heavy Armor which looks like Bikini and I’ll buy that one for 1600 Gems.

I will not buy them because I really don’t like the way they look, at all. But it is nice to see some variety for people of other tastes.

The medium armor skins are average at best.. Waited so long for some more skins and this is the final result .. meh

The heavy and the medium one aren’t that ugly but the light, OMG! It burn my eyes.

I will not spend money on that crap but then again, all skin on RNG aren’t worth of my money so, who cares if the put thing on the gem store or in kittenty boxes.

Also, I will not support new bugs, we have enough already.

And about supporting the game, the day Anet fix all the events bugged I will gladly buy the 8k gems pack and another one when they make a proper skill balance (and if they add a lfg tool or an event monitor I will buy another one).

Ultimately MMORPG forums exist mainly to serve people that will NEVER be happy about a product.

At least there is a Light armor with actual Pants instead of robes and skirts…

Sadly the rest of them are kinda ugly…
Also the actual game doesn’t have as many skins as I hoped, and I’m kinda against the idea of paying cash for dungeon skins that should be in the game. I would gladly pay for something special like a taxido, but those stuff look more like dungeon rewards!

I’m using the heavy chest, legs, and boots on my female guardian with the Guardian class shoulders (not the ones with the glowing symbol) and some Split gloves. Looks pretty sweet on my female Norn.

No. They showed no interest in making the armor compatible with the Charr.

Tail clipping = no buy. It’s a pity as I really like the medium armor.

Sorry the medium armor that engineers got stuck with does not have anywhere near enough gears on it for my taste.

Ill buy the armor skins as soon as they come in a box of content that is worth the money.

Just like airing a pilot of a show in the same time slot as the Olympics. Nobody will watch that new show and it will not be renewed. Much like this system of buying skins directly.

They look amazing. I might actually buy a set of each.

I main a light armor class and the light armor skin is UGLY. No way am I spending 800 gems when the original armors skins were 500 at launch.

I think I could do something with the heavy armor chest and leggings, but probably not the rest of the heavy pieces. Not sure about the others. These are per character, right? I guess so since we don’t have an in-game tailor (oh, Icon, how I miss thee). Hmm, how about throwing in a free jade weapon ticket with the purchase of an armor skin? ;-D

That is the case for me as well.

I like the Medium and Heavy armor sets, but the heavy set doesn’t fit my Guardian’s color scheme and general theme very well and both of my Medium armor classes are Charr. Charr would actually work really well with the armor theme, but the tail issue really kills it.

Until there will be some light armor with pants that actually looks good on charr
and until blood magic and death magic get some love,

I’ve been wanting them to add new armor skins to the gem store for ages, but these are just hideous. I’ve come to the conclusion whoever is responsible for the design for GW2 gear doesn’t share my aesthetic. Plus, female Charr and Asura sharing the male model armors is just lazy.

I want to play the game for my new outfits, not buy them in a gem shop..

And not stupid achievement points LOL.. the old dungeon system works good.. do dungeon multiple times get your badges for armor pieces.. that was nice.

Why not sell Keys for the dungeon in the gem shop, but you can do the dungeon 2x for free when it releases.
