Please can we have Guild Recruitment In-Game
I’m very much in favour of anything that will cut down on the guild recruitment spam in chat. My suggestion is just putting a section in LFG for guilds, which seems less intrusive and easier to implement. Just my 2c.
I’m in favor of alternate methods of in-game recruiting.
I’m thinking of a layout somewhat like the BLTC; another key added to the bar of UI buttons up the too where you could possibly choose options similar to PvE or WvW guild… Size of guild you’re looking for, what server it’s on and active timezone etc.
Something to really buckle down on the hassle of finding the right guild seeing as forums could lead to outdated info as someone stated.
It would be nice to choose all the options you want, under reasonable circumstances and have an array of guilds show up entailing details when you click on them.
Other games probably already have this feature implements – it’s time gw2 should have a system in place as well to benefit the community and any new comers alike.
I very much support having the functionality for in-game guild advertisement without the need to spam map chat. In addition to making it easier/less spammy for guilds to recruit, it would also make it phenomenally easier for people (like recently me) to find guilds suiting their criteria without having to bugger off to places like google and Reddit.
I have seen this type of feature in many other MMOs, and I feel like it would be quite a nice QOL addition.
Depending on how much resources they ANet would invest in that, it could be anything from another tag in the “friends”/“loocking for groups”/… window where you simply can add a guild name and a short text for advertisment,
all the way to a full “profile” with text and numbers, banners, etc. whatever you want to publish
Guild Wars 1 had a great chat system, too bad they Anet won’t use anything from GW1 to make GW2 better.
GW1 had a tab for public, party, say, map and guild. Each channel could be unticked if you didn’t want to be bothered.
Simply add tabs for every channel and add a channel for guild recruitment. Alternatively, in World of Warcraft you could send a message to the GM of a guild who had his or her guild listed in the search for members. GM’s could set in a description what they offered and players could filter and search by keyword.
All of this could have been done in the beginning and easily done now with the mega-server system allowing people from different servers join the same guild.

OMG the devs responded to your idea and made a completely customizable chat-window. you can make your own taps and choose what is shown, you can select a channel by click or commands too.
And all that was added just now … no wait, it was there all along.
There is could be a guild recruitment chat thought, probably easy to implements.

They have the same, or rather, better chat sysytem. Thank goodness they didn’t bring the same bank storage system over from GW1. Or the same dye system. Or the same jump system. Etc., etc. Lol.

OMG too bad tabs bug out sometimes when you make new ones like whisper tabs not alerting you, or not even working at all when the ones that came default in GW1 worked perfectly.
