So take a break for a few days? You won’t lose out on much other than some AP. The old system I would have said was worse as if you didn’t do the dailies you missed out on your laurel.

I found the old dailies/monthlies system much more stressful than what we have now. If you don’t feel like logging in, don’t. It’s no big loss, next time you login you get the same reward at that time. With current system, you get rewarded for logging and playing the game on your schedule, not on some arbitrary calendar timing.

All you have to do is log in, claim your reward and then log out. Takes all of a minute or two. Also, if you skip a day or three, you’ll simply resume on the reward you left off on, item wise. Unless they changed it since the last time I missed a day or so, which was a while back.

You’re not required to claim the rewards everyday if you don’t want to.

They are “Log-In Rewards” – you have to log in for log in rewards. It’s as simple as that!

Can’t get things any easier than that! In my personal opinion, it is responsible for any company to reward their loyal customers and give them incentives for services, and this is a nice easy, in-game example

There is no “need” to log in every day, as the daily achievements don’t give anything other than a few AP.

The old system the dailies were required to get laurals, which are needed for crafting ascended gear, and mystic coins, which are required for crafting legendaries.

However adding a monthly at this point, after the change, the monthlies would feel like a grind. Heck, people are already complaining that the dailies are a grind, and how it forces them to do things they otherwise wouldn’t do.

No. Changing dailies to monthlies wouldn’t be a good idea. I am ok with ADDING monthlies, but not to replace dailies.

You can log in once a month now, if you so desire. You will get the Daily reward. It will just take you 28 months to make it through the cycle, instead. /shrug

Now, if you mean you would rather do a whole month’s worth of Dailies at one time, I don’t think that is really the purpose of having Dailies…..the Devs would rather you play more often. Still, logging in often or seldom is a choice that only a player can make individually.

I, personally, like the incentive, as small as it might be. I do miss days, occasionally, though.

Good luck.

If logging in everyday to get the daily burns you out on the game, then just don’t do it. Simple as that.

I like the daily system as it is.

If you’re doing this for a reward or cause it feels like an obligation, you’re doing it wrong. This is a game. Play for fun.

I log in daily, not cause I get some bouncy chest on my screen, but because I freakin love WvW. The daily reward chest is a nifty bonus, but I’ve been playing long before it came along.

PS: If logging in for the daily chest is really too stressful, you CAN still get your daily rewards with HALF the work. Log in 1 minute before reset to get your Day 1 chest, then wait 60 seconds for your Day 2 chest.
Bam, I just halved your stress level!

These are loyalty rewards, thus they offer value to those who would be doing this anyhow. If you don’t play every day, you still get rewarded, but not as quickly.

I think they added the log-in rewards in order to make you log in every day. Taking out the daily part would defeat the purpose (if I am right).
Anyway I like getting shinies, especially things like ascended materials.

at most, it feels like it takes me about 10 minutes to do my daily more or less. 12 daily, and you need only 3 if you want achivment points, it a good deal. 4 in general, 4 wvw and 4 pvp, most of which do kinda go together which is helpful too. more so in pvp, lol. Some are great to, I love when there a general node one, cause it means free mats, heh, and some wvw are super easy like master of ruins and caravan disruptor. I usally like to do my daily right after work, it relaxing, and as I said, at least for me, not to hard to get in three.

Are you talking about the dailies that you must complete some kind of action to get the reward? Or are you talking about the log in rewards that you get as soon as you log in to the game?

I feel like a clarification is needed, as it seems that the community is confused. My assumption is that he is talking about dailies, not log-in rewards. Dailies are the handful of objectives that you have to actually do in order to achieve. The reward for dailies is AP, XP, a Level, Karma and Mats. There are a handful of other things depending on the big objective. I have no idea what PvP and WvW rewards are.

This is entirely unrelated to log-in rewards.

The OP wants to, either do a bunch of things over the course of a month, or do a handful of much tougher things over the course of a month for an equivalent reward. Because that’s what Monthlies were.

I think this is not a good idea. Monthlies weren’t great. It was still possible to complete your monthlies in a day, defeating the whole point of them. The dailies you don’t have to do, but if you chose to they don’t take much time. Because they happen every day, if you want to do them you will get more reward overall than if it was monthly, but you have to keep doing them to get all the possible reward. If you skip a day it isn’t going to ruin you, unless you’re one of the handful of people super obsessed about their AP “rank.”

No, thank you, the system is fine as it is now.

Your problem is that you feel its “needed” to log in daily. It really isn’t, no matter how much you or others may say that it is.

I’m glad you quoted “needing”, as it is clear at no point is there a need for doing dailies unless you want AP. And if you are an AP hunter, then GW2 will certainly feel like a job. But that’s self-imposed. I spent about an hour yesterday finishing up Ettin slayer and Ogre slayer. Did it feel like a job? You bet! But I wanted that AP, so I sucked it up and dealt with it.

No, no, no thank you.
I like the dailies as they are.
If I don’t log in, I am in the same place I left off.
I log in to play, not to accept daily rewards, so its not job.

Now, I would not mind some form of a monthly objective, like before, ie: number of jumping puzzles, killing veteran bosses, etc.

But no, leave the dailies alone.
There have been enough changes this past year that more changes, for the sake of change just don’t make sense.

I can see how the dailies can be turned into monthly without creating too big of an impact.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily/Table is the schedule
You can take each unique category and turn it into a task for the monthly. If there are duplicates make it an extra tier. Award the 10 AP for every 3 completed tier with a monthly cap of 300 AP. That should lessen the impact of the Daily profession winner in the PvP matchmaking as well. Oh and no more double fractal daily for those who hate that.

Someone will probably argue against it because people will just do all the easier/faster ones …

To the folks talking about log-in rewards: that’s not what the op is talking about.

There is no “need” to log in every day, as the daily achievements don’t give anything other than a few AP.

And Karma, experience, WXP, and reward track progress.

A bit more than nothing, even if still non-detrimental. Still their very existence pits a piece of pressure to complete them for many types of prople, regardless of reward.

I like the new system overall myself.

The only thing I don’t care for is some of the pairings. I wish there was a dungeon/fractal category for people that enjoy that, and the general one had ‘no’ fractals. I always hate the days when I login to see as the general choices:

1. Fractals
2. Mo Fractals
3. Be a fract-hole! Do a Fractal!
4. Mystic Forge

o.O

Now, I manage to get around those days by doing some WvW, some of which are very easy, even if you fail heinously (and make yourself a nice snack for roamers to gnaw on between proper meals). Getting a guard count or securing a flag are pretty easy. Killing one of the vet monsters. Buying that last thing on the last page for the big spender. They make great fillers. Often times I’ll do some extra WvW steps even to avoid the specific zone event clearing tasks (which…would be nice if they were ‘regional’ like the gathering ones rather than zone specific, but I digress).

My concern is that the new “WvW Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome X-Game Mtn Dew Kek Pew X-Treme (now with Retsin, and Doppler 9000!)” will make those harder to do, and then I’ll just not get to do those days.

And is it me, or on days where you have to gather resources in a region, they are suspiciously ‘really’ far away from where the world boss spawns for the lowest area (i.e., SB in Queensdale on a Kryta foraging day)? For once, I’d like to see SB yell out as he dies:

“My…only…regret…was…never…becoming…a gardner!”

(plants 4 onions really quick and dies)

Now that would be something.

Ok, I misunderstood.
I liked the old dailies better, because they completed while I was playing without me focusing on them. I just do dailies nowadays when guildies ask to do the PvP ones.

Again I think the purpose is to make you log in everyday to get the AP and rewards. Also dailies are more casual friendly than monthlies. I have only completed the old monthlies a couple of times, while I did dailies every day I played. I wouldn’t mind if dailies were turned into monthlies, I just doubt it.
