Please create an option for Colorblind mode
Oh, yes please!
While I’m not sure if this is an issue that only affects us, colourblind people, but for example the teleport circles on Cairn are horribly hard to spot when there’s Chrono fields around.
Bumping this, because it’s really baffling to me that big expensive games still don’t take this relatively common condition into consideration. I’m not colourblind, but I find the visual clutter in the game quite overwhelming as it is, even only in normal 5-person groups, and I can’t imagine how much more difficult is must be for you folks.
Shouldn’t there then also be a setting to prevent epileptic people from dieing watching some cutscenes? I remember some heavy brightness negating effects, which would flash them to death.
This has been my dream since the game launched since I simply cannot see the semi-transparent red circles, especially on light colored backgrounds. HoT was mostly unplayable for this reason, and even encounters like Webby Mother in Draconis Mons are beyond frustrating.
Pillars of Eternity (a game made possible through Kickstarter) has a simple colorblind mode, which turns green/yellow indicators into blue. Even something as simple as an “enemy AoE color” option would be a step in the right direction.

Thank you for your compassion. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do T4 Fractals or Raids unless something is done to clean up the visual noise – didn’t Colin mention effects sliders before he left?

I have confidence that the team will be looking at the benefits as well as the “cost” in time and resources in relation to this situation. Members of our own team are colorblind and are able to offer suggestions on this topic.
And thanks for the updated figure, Siphaed.
Maybe someday, as it would be very good to have this in game.
The semi-solid orange circles on many raid/fractal encounters have done wonders for me, personally. I only hope that one day I’ll be able to change all of the other invisible red circles of death into something easier to spot.
Can confirm this game is NOT friendly to people with colour vision deficiency (better terminology than ‘being colorblind’, as people will think you see in B&W).
Guildwars 1 and 2 have always noted at launch that they would be having proper options to make this easier on those people, but have always, always disappointed.
Would be amazing tho, for example I personally hate not seeing the difference between /say and /squad colors in the chat log… (or maybe they are meant to be the same? Both look yellow-white to me… ^^; ). And as stated, some red circles are VERY hard to spot on green backgrounds.
Logged in just for this, all my +1’s.
This option would be so helpful for those with color blindness. It may not affect the majority of your players but would make a huge impact for a sizable group of people.
Bumping this thread. This needs to be implemented, HoT raids are unplayable for me because of red/green colorblindness. Would be so nice if there was a setting to change colors of circles (e.g. blue circles or another contrast-color). Playing this game for such a long time and still waiting and hoping. #colorblind-mode
I agree. Whilst I’m not colour blind I do think it’s something that should be taken into consideration for all games. Especially since the same options can help other people too, sometimes even if you’re able to distinguish the colours normally things like red AoE circles can still be very hard to see due to the background and the option to change it would be very useful.

I am colourblind and the i have great troubles seeing the non-solid AOE markers. A colourblindmode would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve been asking for a colorblind mode for ages.

Meanwhile they keep making things worse, like with the extra colours for commander tags…
I support this. A colourblind mode like the one from Wildstar (you could freely set all indicators to the colors and transparency you want) would be amazing.
