Please extend npc sayings delay
Farmer Eda, the stupid Charrs at Smokestead and many other send their regards.

This is true EVERYWHERE and I see it as one of the main reasons I become less engrossed and invested in this game than I have in MMOs like EverQuest where none of the NPCs say anything. It’s actually MORE disruptive to that “real life” feel to have them repetitive and annoying, “breaking the 4th wall”, than to have them silent. When I first started playing GW2 during beta, I had actually turned all the ambient chat off I think (iirc that is an option). But I shouldn’t have to do that. Just have it on a longer loop.
I also think it’d be relatively easy and VERY worth it for them to change up some of the things merchants and other NPCs say when you interact with them. I understand that there are a lot of Norn praying to the spirits of the wild, and that the spirits rarely answer, but I’m tired of hearing about it. I was tired of it after the first month. Just a wee bit more variety…
“I haven’t taken leave of my senses! I’ve seen creatures of metal and steam!” Yes lady, we get it. We have ALL heard it by now….

If they did that, then people passing by may not hear them.
Other thing they could do is adding a player-based cooldown, so you wont hear them as often, but people passing by may still hear them. Although that may add some strain to the server load.
I’ve been waiting for someone to post this. It was maddening
