Please fix T3 Cultural Armors AP count
You bought them with Glory, so they don’t count and likely won’t ever. They want you to buy them for the full gold amount in order to get AP credit. Sadly, I just don’t see it changing. :\

Then why make it available in the first place?
Why does the T1 cultural armor rewarded through personal story lv20 counts?
To be honest I purchased 3 pieces of Asuran armors from PVE before.
But at that time, PVP and PVE armors are separated.
In order to keep my look, I bought those 2 times so I can look like that in both PVE and PVP. Now they open up wardrobe and no longer separate armors into different version. Meaning I waste money for nothing.
If they aren’t going to fix this, I should have my 60g back through mailing.

It doesn’t count for the achievement; it only unlocks it in your wardrobe. As for why they made it available, they probably did that to give the spvp players a chance to get it in their own game mode; they had many, many skins that you earned through spvp. I mean, spvp players were also able to get skins such as Infinite Light for an extremely small fraction of the cost that it’d cost to actually make or buy it on the TP.

In order to get infinite light back then, you needed to be at least rank 70, using Phoenix tokens in Mystic forge, which not many players were able to do that at that time. (There were no rank 80 people, and less than 50 people were rank 70+)
Your concern is somewhat irrelevant.

Back then, PvE and SPvP were separate. It’s not fair to all of us PvEers if you got credit for a set that cost half the price we paid. Plus, you initially got the armor for the looks, so you were already satisfied with your purchase.
I don’t know, I bought mine from the PvP vendor with Glory as well and it does count towards the achievement… Human t3 though.
Thoth Divine – Power Necro
I Hope You Die – Burst Berserker

It’s not a concern of mine; it’s just a similar situation with another very pricey skin.
Regardless, I don’t see them changing it so that the cheaper (or free) ways of getting the cultural skins are able to count for the Emperor achievement.

You’d be the first person I’ve heard of who actually had it count towards the achievement. Just to be clear, I believe the achievement being discussed is the one that leads to The Emperor title, where you have to soulbind six armors of each tier of the cultural armors.

According to your logic, the new Precursor Collection for Legendary should not count by Wardrobe unlock, but by the actual product LOL. (Which many people probably already dumped into Mystic already)
If they’re going to count by Wardrobe for new Precursor Collection, Cultural armors’ AP should count by Wardrobe too.

I guess most people don’t care about this issue because they wouldn’t be stupid enough like me, to trust Anet and pay that 60g + glory to buy that inferior fake t3 set just to look exactly like what I looked in PVE. (Yes, I bought some pieces first, and then pay extra just to look good in PVP too.) Back then, no-one knows there’d be a wardrobe, and no-one knows pvp skins will be useless and merge to PVE.
Sounds like a bug that was overlooked to me. First time I heard of the issue.
Just to be clear: when you bought the T3 Asuran set from the PvP vendor, was it the actual armor pieces or consumables that unlocked the skins?
Idly, the achievement existed before the wardrobe anyway, did you report the bug when you didn’t get credit for the set as soon as you bought it with glory + gold?
