Please fix the chat system

Meanwhile in other major MMO’s they suffer from this exact problem but worse such as deleting all chat logs upon relogging.
I will guarantee you that if ArenaNet implemented this feature you want someone will post on the forums and complain about it how it ruins their gameplay. I am honestly willing to put money on it. Because unfortunately no matter what they do people are just going to complain and not be satisfied.

But they don’t even delete the Zone-Chat, so why the Guild-Chat ?
Also i know a MMO where we even get chatmessages and open a chatwindow in character select screen or character creation. And that is great i think, since you don’t loose what is beeing written when you relog.
Here what i hate the most is when you have already opened up the options screen and in the moment you press the logoff button, you see something new posted in guild-chat, but of course you can’t even read it anymore.

It would be great to have the chat window in character selection, considering you can open your contact list from there anyways…

Because you can be part of multiple guilds, but only chat in one at a time. Thus the guild most likely doesn’t load until you are logged in, and thus the chat for said guild won’t show up.

Isn’t it possible to disable whispers in, say, guild chat tab (and any other)?
I think the reason (whether it is helpful or not) the Guild Chat disappears is the fact any character on the same account may be in any number of Guilds. It may be difficult to store all possible chats for each guild the account is associated with, or to determine whether Guild chat should be posted when changing to a character that is representing a different Guild. No idea, really.

You also can’t chat in 10 different zones on 3 different servers .. still you see the all the zone-chats.
And .. if the guild is a problem .. then they should kill the guildchat IF you actually log to a character that is in a different guild. But even then i don’t want to have it deleted, and it also makes no sense since we don’t get the guildchat deleted if we switch to represent another guild.

I don’t want to disable whispers. Whispers are at least the only way to talk to people and don’t get the chat deleted after each relog.

I get whispers not from hot girls but by gold sellers daily…
I wish the game simply won’t allow any chat messages to send which contains tagged words such as gold seller’s web address. Gold sellers can’t sell gold if their message is automatically banned by having their URL.

You might be amazed at how creative people would get in changing said words/address which would make creating said filtering a major task. A quick example: add spaces between some of the characters in the address.
I did make a proposal or two in another thread and I’d still like to see at least one of them implemented: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Gold-sellers-whispering-Suggestion/first#post3512670
