I logged in and though “ohh that’s cute…I guess I’ll be avoiding towns today because surely they weren’t dumb enough to make this a global thing.” Nope, I was wrong. It’s a great 3 minute joke that we get to be annoyed with all kitten day.

I guess my plans for making a Norn so I can enjoy that side of the storyline will have to be put on hold because I have to run the entire day with dialog sounds off and altered graphics settings for what would’ve been a cute 5 minute april fools day feature. You guys couldn’t make a one day toggleable buff? It had to affect everyone the whole kitten day? I’ll keep that in mind when it comes time to spend more money on this game.

Again, I doubt the sincerity of those claiming the current joke causes medical distress. It is simply hyperbole to try to make a point they don’t like it. Label me insensitive all you want. I don’t care because I don’t buy it.

Everyone here that doesn’t like it will get over it. They can threaten to quit the game all they want but at the end of the day they will still log in.

It may not be game-stopping, but in WvW it’s certainly a game changer. You can see enemies through walls – you can’t ambush people.

If your guild kicks you after only one day of inactivity then you need a new guild.

I feel bad for the roleplayers. Talk about immersion breaking.

Go to graphics option and turn postprocessing off.
Turn off dialog volume if you need to.
Turn on a transformation potion if you want to get out of the broken animation I guess.

This is seriously the dumbest aprils fool joke I’ve seen in a game, please don’t do something like this again unless it comes with an off switch.

The flickering effect they are using to mimmick old movies was well known for causing headaches when it was common, decades ago. Learning a bit of History is a good thing, especially when trying to mock other people’s opinions.

And those effects can be turned off, but of course the person with the “medical condition” who you would think would be used to going into any games video settings to adjust them because most all games have something that can affect it, can’t be bothered to take two seconds to turn off those effects and instead takes a lot longer to come to the forums and complain.

Sorry, but comes across as a weak excuse and a made up reason to just complain about something they don’t like.

My screen is in sepia and my character is stuck making airplane noises. How do I turn this off? I don’t want this its super annoying I like to have my game have sound and what’;s the point of dialogue if I have to turn it off because the sounds he makes are so kittening annoying.

I’m about ready to uninstall this kitten if it doesn’t get turned back.

Also requesting a fix/disable option (though that’s not happening, you didn’t do it for bobblehead either.) Fully aware that none of your game events/whatever is designed with roleplayers in mind but there is a subset of people wishing there was a disable option so they can do the one thing they actually play the game for.

I enjoyed this joke for few minutes, but then started to get annoying. Very annoying, as in unplayable. Now I’m looking for info on how to turn it off. It seems there’s no way: just log out, close the game.

At best you can turn off dialogue and turn off post processing effects. But you will keep the arms out and the aviators hat on.

Not sure why you would want to uninstall for something that only last for 1 day. Just don’t play for 1 day.

How dare people want to play a game they bought! Quit being so condescending.

“It’s just one day, blah blah, you have no life, etc.” Some of us already don’t have that many days in the week to play, so saying it’s just one day completely ignores the fact that different people have different schedules. For some of us this one day is the time that would have been our primary free time in the week, which is now less enjoyable than it would otherwise have been with the fact that there is no option to turn this off.

This is a SINGLE day. Is it really that much of an issue? And if it is, maybe it would be good to simply take a break from the game for a day and do something else instead?

Last day I have for the next few weeks to get to play, can’t even enjoy myself. Why is there not a switch ? Was humorous for first few minutes… But by now there should be at least an option to go back to usual gameplay.
