I have 2 80’s. Doing the personal story from claw island onwards is exceptionally painful the 2nd time. I’m starting it on my 3rd soon to be 80 now and I want to strangle a kitten every time tranearne speaks. So many of those steps are exactly the same for every profession with just some diaglog differences here and there and most of those steps are just too kitten long and tedius. Ie, not fun.

The ONLY reason a person would ever suffer thru that stuff again (if, like me, they consider redoing the 50-80 story steps pure torture) is to get the back slot upgrade which you can’t get til lvl 80 steps. That is a LOT of torture.

There needs to be some other way to get back slot items OR you need to make alternate personal stories so we’re not repeating the exact same thing over and over.

There are tons of paths for leveling as you alt up – you rarely do the same thing twice even if you do the same zones, but for the personal story, once the paths merge, it’s pure repetition on long steps that suck.

You can always buy it from a guild armor merchant for 5g. Just saying.

Perhaps not the answer you are looking for :P , but it’s probably easier to grind 5g than to do 50-80 storyline if it is so tedious for you.

Often we’ll encounter one early on, like Hearty Back Brace.

Back slot items are pretty uncommon, as noted in the OP. Generally people just buy them from the Guild Armorer once the guild has upgraded to it. And even the level 80 ones don’t seem (to my eye anyway) to have the kind of stat you see in other level 80 trinket slot items.

The whole thing feels very unfinished.

I’m assuming the back slot was where our guild capes were supposed to go, but since that and halls has been put into indefinite development limbo (no one adored those features in GW1?), it really feels tacked on as best.

As far as I am aware, Capes are on hold due to clipping issues. if they solve it, they would add it to the game (I think they aren’t meant to be purely for cosmetic guild thingy)
