Please help me find my niche.
If I wanted to help others but my knowledge was minuscule, what I would do is start looking up topics in wiki on anything that catches my attention and learning as much about it as I can. I would also volunteer answers to questions in map chat if I know the answer and if someone asks for help doing something in map chat, I would help them.
ANet may give it to you.
- You can be scout in a WvW team and extend your role the more you know.
- You can join a large guild, they nearly always look for people organizing things and are able to support you.
I agree with Dayra in regards to joining a guild. If your main goal is to support others and help people succeed, then you are probably exactly the kind of player most guilds would kill for.
A smart guild will realize that they can teach you anything you don’t already know, but a good attitude and desire to be helpful to others is something that can’t really be taught. That guild will be lucky to have you.
Large guilds do guild missions, dungeons, open world things, jump puzzles, leveling etc. A good guild would welcome someone that wants to learn everything and in turn help everyone else that wants to learn something to learn more. It’s a cycle that is too often shunned on other MMOs. The more knowledgeable players we have, the more fun everyone can have.
Something I’ve learned in past years on other MMOs is that if you help someone that others may not help, that person can eventually become a knowledgeable and skilled player that can contribute far more to the game and this person would be more likely to help others that need it. It’s a circle that can provide endless benefits to almost everyone so it should never be ignored.
On GW2 it starts with a guild and from there you can roam the open world and help anyone that needs help.
