I created my account a week ago. My brother got the game this weekend. Now that he bought the game my server is now full and he can’t join my server. I would like to join his server. I have read if you delete all your characters you can transfer your home world for free. I have deleted all but my last character. When I try to delete my last character the “delete” button never lights up. I type the characters name but it doesn’t seem I am able to delete him. Please someone let me know if I am doing something wrong or if I have misread something.

Where did you read that? I’ve deleted all of my characters multiple times and never had that option.

The only way I was aware of was through gems.

Ok so I’m an idiot. When I orginally created my character I mispelled it. Sorry but yes after I deleted all of my characters the world transfer was free. it is pending now. thanks for all the help I’m an idiot.

The only way I was aware of was through gems.

I’ve never done it but my understanding is you delete all, then go back to the character selection screen and pick a world. You might have to log out then log back in first after you delete the characters. It then takes up to half an hour to transfer you.

Wait a minute! So let me see if I understand this. If I delete all my chars I can pick a new homeworld in NA or Europe without having to pay a transfer??

Are you sure that deleting all your toons resets your homeworld too?

I’d really like to know this, because I really want to get on a different server where my friends are, and all my toons are < 40, so deleting them and starting over wouldn’t be a big deal!

Transferring
To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen (using F12 or when you first logon) and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take 5-30 minutes. You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population.

Medium: 500
High: 1000
Very High: 1800
The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.

I just deleted all of my chars and transferred to a different server myself, although it was still within Europe.

I don’t know if it’s possible to switch from different regions. So you might want to seek confirmation from anet (or another player) before you do.

Yes I would definitely need to know whether you can move between regions. I don’t see why not. I have all my chars on a Eur server, but need to move to a NA server. If I delete all my toons, I should be able to choose any servers in NA or Europe, am I correct?

I looked at the wiki link and it didn’t say anything about deleting all chars, unless I missed something.

Yes, you can select American server too. Top right of the servers window there is drop down list
