Kill 300 things
Eat 250 candies
Smash 150 pinatas
Light 100 fireworks
Burn 50 things

Is this supposed to be fun? The events lately have been nothing but painful nonsense that feel like an episode of Dragon Ball. Let’s please cut the filler from future events and have more meaningful content.

I do not care if we end up having fewer events if instead you put more effort into what we do get. I would actually be in favor of that right now as the devs seem to be spreading themselves far too thin.

I like to use SAB as an example because of how nearly perfect it was. There was a small grind for skins, but whatever. Most of it was about playing through the content and finding all of the hidden bits, which is a lot more fun.

Haha, I agree. I took one look at the numbers required for the achievements and went, “Yeah, I think I have better things to do.” Spending that much time smashing pinatas and launching fireworks is really, really lame. In WoW, I could spend maybe 10 minutes on an event and get what I wanted out of it. I don’t want to be forced to complete monotonous mini-games for what I want.

If you smash ten pinatas every time you go to LA (which takes no time at all), you’ll end up with the achievement by the end of the event.

But I do agree, it’s not brilliant content.

Of course it’s not content…it’s atmosphere, nothing more. It keeps people in LA, which gives a party feeling to people in LA.

Most people who do it chat while they do it, and don’t pay attention to it at all. While I was doing it, I had some very nice chats in LA and it did feel festive.

Not everything in an update is always going to be content in the traditional sense. This was more like traffic control. And it worked.

I don’t mind the effigies or pinatas, but 300 of those stupid things is 150 too many.

I would have to agree here. Fortunately, they “fixed” both the Moa Race and the Dragon Ball arena, can you imagine if only ONE player won in those like in Crab Toss? Who had that brilliant idea?

The Holos aren’t taking much time now, most people rushed and did the achievements, so now they are just sitting there.

I still wonder, who had the bright idea to add more pinatas/effigies needed for the achievement, than those available in game, so unless you have multiple characters (or wait, or guest) you can’t finish those achievements.

Dragon Ball was kind of fun. But pointless to do once you get the achievement for it. Not that the achievement was even worth wild for much.

I don’t know why having fun is pointless. I continued to play long after I got my achievements and in fact, play some even after they stopped counting it toward your PvP kills.

Dragon Ball is once again a glimpse at the awesome A.net can create. Some of that should make it into permanent content somehow ….
