Please remove the Aetherblade JP from Diving
+ yes plz, this goggle jump is impossible for me, been sitting on 37/38 for 2 years almost and that will not change. It is a torture to see that number on my almost completed achievements every time i open that panel.
I managed to get it when a mesmer was there one day giving free ports. Maybe when this jp hits the daily, that will repeat. But keep looking, always someone.

I can’t imagine that they’d create a new Not So Secret achievement and keep the mastery point with the regular JPs. It’s definitely one of the hardest in the game and I suspect the idea is to grant a mastery point to those committed to figuring out how to get the point.
Besides having mesmers to help port you back, the other thing that you might find useful is to go with someone who can do it already. Tag them (ctrl+T) and follow them down, a second or two after. That’s much easier than trying to find your own way down into the cup of water at the bottom.
I have a method that works 100 percent for the dive. Feel free to whisper me in game. Ill help you out. I have mesmer(s) parked there for this very reason.

Is it something you could share? I’d be happy to help you add it to the wiki, if you’re interested.
dont go waiting for it to show up in daily rotation they are worried it is too hard to be a daily
Removing something from any achievement because you can’t do it seems silly to me.
Plus you can always ask for help.

I only got it with the help of a mesmer. I couldn’t get very far into it even using my engineer with the jump shot. I’m still trying to figure out how mesmers are able to port so far. One had a portal way outside the cavern then ported a number of us to the dive point then the end of the puzzle.
Even though I got it with help I would like to see it removed or moved elsewhere because not everyone has the dexterity to do jumping puzzles. Besides it’s supposed to be a dive point achievement not a jumping puzzle achievement.
I’ve always thought that the slayer achievement should have a mastery point and title attached to it because that takes forever to finish. Even level 500 crafting should have mastery points attached.

This guys is super awesome! I’ve tried this number of times with mesmers’ help as well, but the jump itself never worked. I never thought i get it done, even with mesmer’s help, so ofc i was skeptical, but Cobrakon made it happen for me, i can’t thank him enough<3.
If it’s so hard to do that someone needs to show you a special trick, that indicates that it is badly designed and shouldn’t be made a requirement for something like a mastery point. The diving point is supposed to be one of the easy ones for people to get, but this one jump ruins it. Just remove it and make it a separate achieve (probably without MP) like the jumps in HoT.
Got it on my second try without any mesmers, and i’m bad at this game.
I’d agree with that, but because of the jumping puzzle part. It’s that the jump itself is so poorly designed and attached to a complicated jump string that’s beyond infuriating. Absolutely zero conveyance with fatal consequences. So, basically, it’s the Battletoads of jumping puzzle diving. -_-

I believe the best would be to remove this diving location from the achievement and make it an achievement on its own. There would still be 1 mastery point to earn, and it would be for this specific diving location. This way, people who busted their bottom to get it are still rewarded, while the others can still finish the achievemtn without it.
Learn2play issue, there are 17 extra mastery points to earn in central Tyria. If this one is too hard, do another one.

I had the same experience, and I have 47 year old fumbling fingers.
Took me an hour, but I got it done.

I just did it out of curiosity. It is hard indeed, but not THAT hard. If you really struggle, it might take you 1 or even 2 hours, but whining for this seems overreaction to me. We were 3 players attempting it at once, no mesmer, all 3 succeeded within a reasonable time despite some hard portions we had to do several times.

I can second this. Randomly met him when he was porting and with his advice, kitten ed if I didn’t get it on my second try.

I got to the top of the JP by myself, but I needed a very patient mesmer to port me back up over a dozen times until I understood how to do the dive. Thank you.

I think you are confusing someone having trouble describing their method with needing to “show you” a special trick. There are all sorts of things in the game that are easier for people if someone else shows them how they’ve done it.
I think you are also assuming that the Mastery Point associated with diving is supposed to be ‘easy’.
I get that you don’t like it and find it difficult, but that, alone, is not a good enough reason to spend time and effort to change things.

I was never able to do this jp and had to rely on the kindness of mesmers to get the puzzle done and the diving part as well. This puzzle was definitely beyond my capabilities also lag heavily impacts this puzzle and the jumps which pretty much made it impossible for me to do without help. I had the Dive Master before they added this one and it was always a sore point to me that those who had done all the diving achieves before this were suddenly put in the position of not having finished it. This particular puzzle should have been put in a special category of it’s own since it was also tied to the living story.
Thirst Slayer is another sore point with me in that Festive Imbiber achieve gets a title for only 10k drinks while Thirst Slayer at 100k gets no title. Thirst Slayer should at least get a mastery point for that achieve…
I agree creature slaying should get at least a title and/or mastery point for finishing. That one is difficult to finish because of the Giant Slaying. Though I would like to see them add some other things to slay as well as our explorations of Tyria expand.

There needs to be way more to give players more options on what they want to do. It would better allow each player choose the path they go to achieve their masteries.
As someone who has like 6 Mesmer (from a few accounts) parked up there, at the goggles platform, I do like helping players get this achievement. But there a few easy ways to get it; attached pic is just shows two methods.

First time I’ve ever gladly paid the tax!
(Nice infographic… be lovely if you submitted that to the wiki; I think one of the editors there would be happy to help figure out how best to make use of it. See above for a link to the relevant page.)
Few days ago I help one new player with this achievement. I explain where to stand and where to jump, I show few dangerous pipes. He did it in first try.
Just… enough of this. Its an achievement. Explorer achievement. Exploration, sometimes, can be hard.
But it’s also, DG Achievement, a Central Tyria Mastery Point. That’s the issue.

You might have had a point if only this mastery wasn’t given out to everyone that finished this achievement before Not So Secret was introduced.

It’s not the JP that is a problem, i can do that one just fine. It’s the jump itself. The main problem is that you just can’t see where you jump, due to the hologram cave covering.
@Dana
TY for the tip, will try it out.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
There’s a couple of guides on YouTube aswell, including tricks for getting the jump right.
