Please the lag is insane fix it
I think the problem is with your internet.
Otherwise provide me a meaningful explanation why I do not have these problems(I’m playing PVP, so I suffer TERRIBLY when lag comes along) and you have them(In dungeons, where one might not even get seriously affected by them)

I think that you don’t know how it works
The problem can be on the route to the server, on the server itself, or on your ISP side.
Not having problems outside of GW2 already rules the ISP out. Route problem is probable, server problem after patch is super-probable. A lot of other ppl have it too, I asked in-game (yesterday, dunno how’s it today, haven’t played yet though…)

Just to clarify how it REALLY works:
- Just because everything but GW2 “works fine” does not rule out your ISP. ISPs can set up throttling and data routing profiles based on where it thinks data is going and what kind of data it is. They can easily mis-classify data (like GW2 connection) and throttle it when they shouldn’t. Note that if this “lag” happens more during peak (evening) hours, this is HIGHLY likely to be the cause.
- Routing issues can be equipment failure OR actual routing issues (that could be intentional OR a setup mistake). It’s even possible that your ISP can flag data (based on the above classifications) and direct it to routing that is causing the problem.
- An actual issue at GW2 servers would effect ALL players connecting to that server and would be quite evident. An actual CODE issue (due to a patch) would likely effect EVERY player connecting to the game and would be VERY obvious (as these boards would have tens of thousands of threads about it….like what happens when DDOS attacks happen).
Bottom line:
- Run a TRACERT and evaluate where the slowdown is happening (almost always a route issue).
- Send report to your ISP, as they are the only ones that can attempt to get the route issues fixed.
- If the TRACERT shows ANET being the problem, open a ticket and include the report.
Note that TRACERT can only show transmission side traffic, so if the problem is from the ANET side to your system, you will not have any data to identify that issue.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
I dunno…ever since the last few patches I’ve been lagging a lot too…..and I never do.
Yeah, I’ve been lagging a lot only recently too with no change to my internet service or anything, and I’ve noticed a lot more people D/Cing in PVP or complaining about lag too. It’s not reserved to PVP either, because WVW’ers have been complaining about the same thing for weeks now.
I’ve been hearing it from a lot of people who have some of the best ISPs too, like fiber optics and such, so I have a hard time believing that all of these different ISPs suddenly just started messing up simultaneously.

+1 Started lagging myself a little after Halloween.
Same here, few minutes ago had to quit a fotm run cause the hole group was lagging. 2 of us even got dc’d at the same time + constant freezes
