Feel free to write something out if I missed an option. Living Story would go under Open World unless you only play the LS dungeons or something like that.

I would include the options of “nothing”, “socializing”, “roleplaying”, “leveling for WvW”, “Merchanting”, and “Achievements”.

All of those are (presumably) Open World.

If the only thing you do in PvE is nothing, I think you can safely bypass the poll.

I don’t farm but I do mostly do everything… I do dungeons, Fract, Exploring, enjoying LS, World Bosses, chat with friends and more.

Though I would advice you to split up “Open World” since it is a big category as it has Socialzing, Roleplaying, Leveling, Exploring, Jumping Puzzles, Achievemtn hunting and more. While world boss train is one thing and dungeons/Fract is two things and so on.

My idea was the open world was just basically “kitten going on”. If you just wandered out the door of Rata Sum, what would find? Not hardcore farming or dungeon running etc., but probably socializing or leveling or jumping puzzles.

The definition for open world is way too wide. By being almost anything, it means the poll means almost nothing.

Whatever dungeon I fancy, if I happen to run into a World Boss, waiting for a guildmate to complete a map with, and occasionally Personal Story.

It really isn’t it you look at it terms of game play. The difference between socializing and RPing is literally zero. I will admit my poll doesn’t allow for those nuances that make those results interesting, but I was only thinking about gameplay when I made it.

RPing involves playing the game in character. Socializing involves just talking about whatever.

You know, I wonder if anyone has ever made one of these polls and put in stuff that is against the games rules, just for the lulz. Its like, having one of those “how did you hear about blank” surveys, and have “prison” as one of the checkboxes.

But anyway, “nothing” IMO should be an option, since there are many people who play the game, but don’t play PVE. Or, many people who like to talk about the game, but aren’t currently playing it. These guys matter, too.

Login, fart about doing champ train, bit of dailies. Shoot the breeze with guildies a bit and log out.

That’s my GW2 playstyle in a nutshell.

I did log in and do dailys sometimes, mostly i did dungeons and fracts, but i have got so bored i don’t log in now much at all, perhaps 1 -3 hours a week or less.

Running the same 8 dungeons forever now with nothing new and with the way it lends itself to stack, nuke, loot, skip, god im bored.

I don’t like the pvp, other games do that so much better and its hard not to compare.

It feels like A-net are cake decorators, a cake with little content, i am really disappointed in gw2 and have returned to gw1 which is a shame as i had such high hopes.

I keep checking in the vane hope things may change but it’s not looking good sadly.

Levelling alts, getting skins for my wardrobe, farming money, do guild missions, do dungeons, do events with my guild (mostly events we organise ourselves), living story (when it’s around).

Dungeons only, maybe fractals.

Log on 30min-1hr before reset and do some gathering or finish daily if need be. Then world bosses after reset, and log off at some point.

You have absolutely no clue as to what either of those words mean, in terms of MMORPG, do you? Playing the game I paid for in the manner of which I want to is neither ‘trolling’ nor ‘griefing’.

Yes, basically unorganized, social, random play. Honestly I forgot all about guild missions, but I doubt there is a sizable portion of players spending the majority of their time in them.

Q: What do you do in PvE?

I spend 99.9% of my time in PvE. I find it quite fun. I have several alts and they need map completion and story completion. There’s Dailies/monthlies to do, Champ trains, Orr Temples, Trait unlocks, a whole bunch of achievements, material farming, dynamic events etc Then there’s WvW & Dungeons. fun, fun, fun

Mostly level alts at this stage and trying to fully equip a few of them in max stats.

Been trying to get into Dungeons (I’ve had minimal luck); but mostly hitting my head against the Zerker Gear Check/Wall.
