Ok so with the confirmation that the new dungeon is only temporary AGAIN, i thought id see another show of hands as to who enjoys the fact that the content is temporary or would you like to see ways of including it within the game as a permanent type of content.

Let me clarify, if by saying you would like temporary, it would mean you see massive amount of potential and innovation from the living story system and you would prefer to see it as a living breathing story. I would assume the biggest reason for this is because you want gw2 to be original and set itself apart from the crowd.

If by saying you would prefer it perma, it would mean you dont like the content being up for a peroid of time and you would want a way of including it within the game at all times. Again to clarify, that could mean you are up for the suggestion of having a story-teller type NPC in which you can relive any of the previous temporary content. SO the idea of the living story and its meaning within the game world would remain intact.

Personally i would vote;

PERMA.

My reasons are quite obvious, as i touched upon them within the clarification. I believe there would be reasonable way of including past and outdated (even event) content within the world without jepodising anets big living story plans. Give us a story teller NPC in which i can relive all the instances that i have loved or missed throughout the past months.

For me, it entirely depends on what the content is. If Fractals were intended to be temporary, then I would insist that they were permanent. However, the upcoming dungeon is intended to be temporary. It makes sense. I love the game being a constantly changing, literally living breathing world… And having some temporary content is nice for that. I kind of wished that SAB was permanent. I think Halloween and Wintersday were excellent examples of temporary content. I won’t be able to participate in this dungeon, and most likely the achievements, but I’m okay with that.

I do wish we were able to get an additional permanent dungeon in Southsun Cove, but oh well. I’d say, it depends… But my vote would go towards temporary in general.

In these cases, temporary since we are doing things of a living world. No sense in promoting important events if they keep happening.

But the fact is, SOMETHING needs to permanent over at Southsun.

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards,
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Why waste development time on temp content like I posted in my topic there is little to do as it is why remove the decent content they make (adventure box and island event and now this dungeon) point of a MMO is to keep adding stuff so it gets bigger not adding stuff for a week or two never to be seen again, why waste time doing stuff like that ?

Permanent content with seasonal holiday events. No 2 week dungeons or anything like that, all this means is my friend who I’m trying to suck into GW2 right now with stuff like living story just makes him not want to buy the game, especially since SAB is gone now, which I didn’t care for, but was nearly a selling point for the entire game for him.

Temporary content will not give you the population increases you want Anet, if anything it just attempts to keep the current population stable.

Anarai Aeonblade [GASM] – Guardian – DB
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.

while id much rather have permanent content I think that temporary stuff like the living story ending in the temp dungeon is in my opinion a far sweeter fix than what happened in the karka event it was just terrible.
it was just wasted for people in other time zones and those that did get there it was wasted by nasty lag as for people that start the game later and never even seeing it wont really matter stuff like that will be remembered by people that did it and new starts wont have missed any thing they never knew was there

Permanent content makes a LOT more sense than this temporary stuff.

Karka event was not permanent, but one-time. That’s the opposite direction of what we’re talking about.
Imo there should be a way to access those “temporary” dungeons/missions even after they have passed. Perhaps through some “historian” NPC or “story book” object. Or reactivate scrying pool in HoM – it was a nice feature.

Actions, not words.

I would rather see permanent content centered around the barren cities.

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.
