So I’ve been reading a lot on the new legendary trinkets/gear and new weapons and had a thought, “What is the likelihood that the new legendaries will require the usual Gift of Fortune and Mastery?”

Just trying to plan for future endeavors ;-)

Thoughts?

Sounds to me like they’re only messing with precursors. I don’t know why they would change the rest of the formula, which, to my knowledge, no one has seriously complained about. Gift of Fortune and Gift of Mastery should still be part of the process (if they aren’t, I personally will be frustrated enough to quit the game, as I’ve slowly been grinding them out for over 6 months).

As for the legendary trinkets… I don’t know why they would bother with this? The only point of a legendary is the skin… but trinkets don’t have skins. I’m certainly not going to go through as much effort as I have with a legendary weapon just to see a special little icon on my hero screen. I guess it would have the same “change stats anytime” property that the weapons are supposed to gain… but how often do people really change their stats? Probably cheaper just to buy a new item if you decide you want a new build…

I have an theory on this. My guess is that trinket legendaries will be the “poor man’s legendary” where you don’t get a skin but still get all the other special effects. My guess is that these legendaries will have some sort of visual effect but not as much as a full legendary. e.g. sparkling hands, leaving leaf/feather trails, glowing auras.

As such these legendaries will require less to make them.
Example
Flowerstone – Legendary accessory
Creates petals coming off of the character
Recipe: Gift of Mastery + Gift of Magic + Gift of Energy + Tortured Root

Backpacks do, they count as trinket, right?
Like zerorogue idea for the other trinket very much!.

Quite frankly IMO all those “Gifts” could be simply named Gifts of Grind(GoG1, GoG2, etc.)
And I really hope it´s stuff like running Ascalon 5gazilion times that the new system will abandon.

You realize if they’re doing legendary trinkets stats will be the same as ascended (which we already have) So the thing that they are going to add are effects to our characters to make them much cooler looking than they are now. Use your head a little bit please. My god.

They count more as armor since they can be damaged and broken like breathers.

You realize that legendary weapon stats are the same as exotic/ascended yet half of them look like garbage. Use your head a little bit please. My God.

You have gotten what you paid for, all that remains is biweekly gemshop pushing.

Use YOUR head a little bit and realize that what you state as fact is purely an ASSUMPTION. “They are going to add effects”? Who knows? They might see the fact that you can change stats anytime you want, as with legendary weapons, as sufficient to justify their being different from ascended and not bother with any sort of visual effect. So keep your commentary constructive as it’s all speculation at this point.

Well the unique “Bling” is kinda the Legendaries thing.
They even went and recently boosted one with rainbow-ponies! So it´s a pretty safe bet I would say.

Haha thanks mod, that escalated quickly.

Regardless of whether or not an individual is going to spend time on legendary trinkets (I will be, why? Because…. no further reasoning.), the point of this thread was to discuss the recipes used to build the new legendary weapons and trinkets. If you’re just here to put us down for “wasting time” on legendary items, you should probably re-evaluate your definition of time wasting because you are playing a video game……

This is really the big thing I’m worried about, I wanna know if Gift of Mastery and Gift of Fortune will be used in the new legendary weapon recipes. I’m about 1/5th of the way done on my third Gift of Fortune and ~66% done on a 3rd Gift of Mastery. I would like to continue saving towards a new weapon as I’ve pretty much gotten the only weapons from this set that I want.

As for trinkets… I’m hoping they have some cool visual effect that makes it worth pursuing. That alone will be enough for me to start work on one… or a full set. If I could change my stats, that would be even better, I have three sets of armors and trinkets for builds I like to use (Celestial (soon….), Power and condition damage sets)

I have an theory on this. My guess is that trinket legendaries will be the “poor man’s legendary” where you don’t get a skin but still get all the other special effects. This makes the most sense to me, though I don’t know how they would fit the Mastery gift into each trinket, that’s three fully mapped characters for 6 gifts of exploration o.o just to get one set
