Dear A-net. Give Gem-store faces and hairstyles some more love.

I’m mutch into aestetics. And I guess I’m not alone. Part of the end-game is all about aestetics.

I love having a unique face and hair on my character (well – physical apperance in general).

Whe u create new faces, they sometimes clip whith themselves (eyeballs now lately on the female one). They bug out when emotes are used etc. Many new faces have also created a wiered neck shape that make armour clip and haristyles hover.

[Charr] When u create hairstyles, They clip whit faces and horns. This stops picky ppl from buying these things even if they would have looked nice if “working” properly.

I ask u – pleas make sure the faces dont klip/break when using all avaliable setting in character creation. Test this before releasing it! Make sure the neck has the same shape as when using the original faces – so that u can use gear and haisrtyles without crying of the look of it. It also saves u a lot of complaints and “homework”.

Make hairstyles that are made for charr faces – with horns and everything.

I gladly wait a bit longer for faces and horns as long as this is done.

Today, I main a character with abroken face (new female one) Her eyebells clip and her hair hovers over her wiered shaped neck, wich I didnt notice untill AFTER spending the makeover kit! (reported in Bug-forums) This just makes me sad. And I have to see this every day! She has never been so broken, lookwise as now! Plz fix this!

Haven’t noticed it with other races but there’s a Charr face I like (the tybalt-ish one) but I can’t use it cuz it’s horns clip with my cooking outfit mask. I didn’t notice it till I used the kit and eventually changed it. Same with the awesome new david bowie hairz~ it clips through the top of the mask.

Dunno how it fares on other pieces or armor but I’m not removing the best mask in game anytime soon.

I agree. The most recent lot of faces and hair have been disappointing. It’s almost like someone thought there was a distinct lack of dreads in the game and just went wild with the female charr designs. Possibly while under the influence of something.

The big thing that gets me is that most of the faces aren’t structurally different – at all. The only thing that differs is the paint or makeup put on each face, which I find extremely annoying. Just give us the option to have pre-set makeup/paint with any face and remove those with the same structure. This is a customisation option that I REALLY liked in Tera. Each face had different sets of make-up exclusive to the face that was chosen.

That’s what annoys me the most when they say Three New Faces! and I look at them and it’s 3 almost identical faces. One will have slight, almost imperceptible freckles and the other doesn’t. The third will have red lips. Or the female Asura will have different brightness to the eyes as the only real difference. Not only are the new faces almost identical but they aren’t really different from the old faces. Most have what I call “supermodel faces.” Pretty, even beautiful but not much variation between them. They are both lovely and homogenized.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

I wish they would simply remove the whole concept of those “face” and give
us more sliders and options that allow us to create every possible face with it.
Just like for example in PWI.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I know I’m in the minority when I say I play charr, and a smaller minority when I say all 3 of my charr are female. Now I do want to say I freaking love the Viking theme with the norn and human hairdos. They’re awesome! And the asura are cute, and the sylvari are pretty (my favorite are the new double ponytails)

But don’t you think there are enough stupid looking charr hairdos by now? I really don’t know why charr are treated more like cartoon characters than the other races. A few funny hairdos don’t ruin the rest, like the male charr super saiyan from a makeover kit update or few ago. But now it feels like every update is ugly looking and ridiculous and I’d like more poofy or silky hair to choose from. Hell, even some more stylized mohawks would be preferable to the crap we got yesterday as lady charr. :-(

How are these new ones or any Haristyles / Faces “gem store”?

I have a dozen Full makeover kits and half a Dozen hair kits in my bank and have never spent a gem on them. I did / do occasional keyruns, but I still have never obtained a new face or hairstyle from the gem store….

I’m not saying there couldn’t be improvements, but you do NOT have to spend gems to get access to them. Also, the fact that this is an MMO that NEEDS to be playable on older hardware greatly limits the graphics BLING that can be used to create them.

Because the makeover kits are primarily an item obtained in the gem store. That is the most noticeable means to obtain a kit. The makeover items are sold there. Your experience may not be typical. The fact that you have some kits that you got by other means is irrelevant, in any case.

The OP’s issue is poor quality in a virtual product that is in fact sold on the gem store. It is a service to ANet and to potential consumers to point out the issue in hopes it might be fixed. Sidetracking the thread by your irrelevant comment is not helping.

I think expecting that the new hairstyles they drop for the races to be perfectly compatible with every helmet and facegear out there is a tall order to fill. The hair looks nice without the mask, so either use the mask and a non clipping hair or the hair without the mask.

RE: Female funky hairdos for charr, It’s about time they got something non-princessy.

Don’t think theres a problem with quality here; I think the problem lies in expecting their hair artists to make sure their hairdos match every mask in the game.

The pidgeotto hair for humans though.. 10/10.

Whe u create new faces, they sometimes clip whith themselves (eyeballs now lately on the female one).

If true, I would say that’s a a quality issue. Also not sure about the neck issue.

If the faces have clipping issues on their own, then conceded, but still think asking them to run through every armor helm in the game to make sure that they all work is both limiting and unnecessary in terms of quality assurance.

Azure… This tread is not about headger clipping issues (thats another charr problem that we do have a lot of too) – its about face and hairstyle issues. Where the face clips with itself and where the hairstyles fits poorly or clips with the face due to strange neck shapes etc…
