I have this idea, but would probably be hell for the programmer,s and 3D modellers…
what if we had the option to customize a weapon skin?
essentially, the option would allow one to purchase a kit from the gem store, or possibly as an event of some sort; that unlocks the ability to create one skin of your choice, with the addition of color options from the dyes you have unlocked.
what you would be able to manipulate is the 3D model of a weapon of your choosing, and add components of other weapons onto it, so, say i have a really nice greatsword, with a mirror finish blade, but i want a different hilt? The custom weapon kit would allow you to mix and match all the different pieces of the weapon, and even add extras to suit your tastes. on top of that, each component will be able to use the dyes you unlocked to pick a color scheme of your choosing.
my thoughts as to why this would be awesome is that it would give players the drive to save up for the gems or do the event to get the kit, and play around with making their own epic looking weapons. The thought behind the coding and content i imagine would not be fun for the programmers or modellers, seeing as how i imagine that most every weapon model is already a finalized object, and not in pieces to readily tear apart for such content. though the idea itself seems to me like it would be worth a shot? what do you guys think of this idea?
maybe someone has a better idea of how to obtain the kit? or maybe an even better idea to add to this?
i’ve just always loved the idea of having my own custom weapon skins as i ran around to show off to people, if they did add this feature, i’d easily dump another $20 into the game lol
