Yea was just curious if anyone has kept track of the fastest time to 80 yet just for gigles i decided to level a character directly from the tutorial with crafting and managed to get it in under 10 hrs

Been done in around 8 hours

but how much did u loose

had a guildy do it in 6-7 hours but he has craft leveled a few toons now so he is fast as.
i was following same guide as him and he finished two trades before i had finished my first

how much gold does this take? just curious

If you don’t count gathering of all mats required…4h. If you know what you are doing, each craft 0-400 will take ~30min(I was short on crafting boosters so had to fit 2 crafts on 1 for my master crafter title xD).

Pretty sure if I was willing to dump the gold into it (and skip all the stuffs you get playing new toons via map completions), I could hit the 6 hour mark pretty easily. You can level up quite a few crafting professions via mass production (artificer and cooking are the best for that) and jewelcrafting is so incredibly straightforward it’s a breeze.

Of course, even playing alts and goofing around a bit with them, I’ve got it down around 30 hours. Pretty sure if I skipped the goofing around part, I could take 5-6 hours off that easy.

It takes me probably 120 hours. And I enjoy all of it.

An 80 in 3 hours lol. They spent 5 years and you can get an 80 in 3 hours, that is pretty kitten funny.

I’m pretty sure a few people managed to hit level 80 within 48 hours of release, and that was without the option of doing it entirely though crafting because they wouldn’t have the materials available.

Only if you think getting to max level is the be-all and end-all of the game. Which would be pretty silly because even without short-cuts like crafting reaching 80 is relatively quick and easy and only a fraction of the total gameplay available.

How much does crafting to 400 usually cost? I really don’t want to level another alt to 80 using the traditional questing route but I dunno if i can afford crafting..

That’s because leveling was never the biggest aspect of the game. It’s one of the things Anet got right by not making getting to lvl 80 a huge power curve.

Actually taking in and enjoying the content? Nice to see. After all for $60 I want to get my $$ worth out of this title before moving on.
