I know that the capes were not added due to clipping issues.

Is it perhaps possible that they will be adding guild capes in the Jan / Feb / March updates, as they said they will eventually?

I feel that guild unity is lacking and in guild wars capes were a big deal – There are nice choices out there at the moment for those who do not wish to use capes and prefer the backpacks etc.

But they said they will be added, perhaps this is the perfect time?

What are your guys thoughts and guesses as to them adding the guild capes these next few updates.

Guild-Wars2.info: Why did you decide to implement guild back packs instead of capes like we saw in the original Guild Wars?

Izzy: After 250 years, guild fashion has had to adapt and change, especially as more diverse races started working together. The charr, for example, are not a big fan of the capes as they get in the way when running on all fours. The asura have calculated that capes increase the chance of fumbling in combat by 34.76819011% and thus avoid them at all costs.

My guess? Not gonna happen.

Well i get that, what about racial back items then? A lot of the human heavy armors for instance are dying for a cape, instead of some fancy book or fractals shard on their backs.

I am glad they add diversity for all – But i did hear from some posts that they plan to add them, and the only reason they have not yet is for the clipping.

Either way even a tabard of some sorts will be acceptable – Any form of guild unity besides backpacks (as most people don’t wear them as they ugly).

I also get their point about the fashion – but why replace that with almost no guild unity and uglier guild representation :P
