Let me just state this post has nothing to do with me complaining…. I’m just sick of watching the trading post window and speed clearing cof/coe…….

What are other possible ways to get gold at a semi reasonable rate ? I tried collecting t6 mats from multiple areas but the drop rates paired with the rng just didn’t allow me to make over 25s/hr. I tried doing what I did to make my 3 gifts which was just run around doing events in spacific zones and selling what ever drops but the drops since then have dried up… Didn’t even make 50s/hr….

Is there some place outside of a dungeon I can make at least 3-4g per hour ?

I mean any way to make 3-4g per hour that is actually fun like going from place to place and doesn’t feel like I’m grinding my head against a grinding stone.

IRL If you make even minimum wage is more cost effective to convert gems to gold from real money. There really isn’t any other option than that or CoF/CoE and trading post camping.

I.E You make 7.50 an hour. Let’s say you have 2 hours of disposable income from each day of work. That’s $15 before tax, or 800 gems. Convert to gold, and you make about 6 gold an hour from “farming”.

And that’s why this game’s farming/material system is really, really, REALLY broken.

There isn’t any place.

I wouldn’t convert gems to gold just because I would be giving into what feels like is being pushed on me by a.net.. and I was putting in nearly 14 hours a day farming to get my gifts for my legendary…. I just don’t wanna do that many hours a day anymore I wanna make 10g per day without having to bust my kitten speed clearing and watching the number game on the trading post…. I wanna make progress without getting rid of the little life I have been trying so hard to keep.

Hey I didn’t say it was the best solution, but it would cut your farming down to 2 hours a day and give you your life back! That said I can’t support them through gem purchases anymore either, So I do know how you feel.

I can’t find work to get money anyway… If I could this game wouldn’t get any attention at all…. I just wanna get the last 250g I need for my precurser at a semi reasonable rate… As it stands I feel like the scavenger hunt is going to be in by the time I save up enough for my precurser..

I miss being able to work at getting elite armor in gw2 just by playing the game… Missions quests and random dungeons with friends would rake in enough money that I never had to worry about grinding really hard… Only grind I felt in gw1 was the titles for my 50/50 and gwamm…. Outside of that it was just play the game and you get what you want at a reasonable rate…. I miss it.

(note – by the dropping prices I would consider it to become unprofitable in a few days. Yesterday I was selling coffers for 6 silver, today for 3. Other than that, by putting in a lot of hours I earned about 40G in 2 days. I myself am pushing for a Tier 3 before I start leveling my next all and saw this as an opportunity to speed up the process. )

1. do it at off peak hours. 3 AM to 9AM barely anyone on farming in Europe.
2. Try multiple different zones. Timberline Falls was probably the only zone where I could find short lived peace today at day time, however Metrica and Caledon were really unpopulated and not farmed in the morning.
Found out that switching servers does close to nothing though. More people than just me thought of switching to low pop servers for farming I guess.

Also, try guesting to lower population servers. Pro Tip: People tend to overlook Fields of Ruin because it’s in the middle of nowhere.

This… Not much else you can say.

Right now, you can get 50 coffers/hr by farming the holos. Last I checked they sold for 4+s, so about 3.5s profit per coffer = 1.75g / hour minus travel costs, so around 1.25g/hr I think.

Or hang on to them until after the event. If the ticket vendor sticks around as usual for another week or so, people will hoover up the coffers for their last chance at a ticket.

How many 80s do you have? I’ve been lazy to farm for mats so I go on a Ori hunt. Go to orrmaps.com and find the best server with the easiest ori locations to get to, grab them with all your level 80s (assuming you them to that zone) then do the same for Frostgorge. I can get 85+ ores with all my characters less than 20 mins.

Second, look for trends, I’m farming platinum atm. Seen the price for them? Hit a zone with tons of them, also helps that the Holograms are in game atm so more ways to make money. It’s a win win situation for me. Prices may have dropped (from 93s each to 77s now) but still worth more than Mithril and in zones where mid tier mats drop. When it’s at the point of little profit, i need platinum ores anyways to make Gift of Metal.

That’s the lazy way to make money imo but still fun.

I used to farm ori but honestly it’s not worth the time invested anymore… You spend around a hour to get what 98s-1g.. I see that kinda depressing… I make 1.3g just killing random undead in orr or frostgorge for the same amount of time.

Pro-tip on holo farming

Try and go to the maps/servers that are highly likely to have an overflow.

For example, pick Jade Quarry or TC as a server and then try and stay in overflow for zones such as Blazridge, Queensdale, Metrica, e.t.c.

Just a heads up I play on FA which is nearly always overflow for most populated maps… I’ve still not found any that have no players on them outside of maguuma jungle area not saying the exact map because people would flock to it I’m guessing….

I’ve been farming that though… Just really don’t know if I wanna sell my coffers now or hold them till the event ends and the price starts to climb… I already got a ticket and the bow only wep I wanted and now I’m just collecting them.
