Hello fellow scribes!

Now that scribing is a lot cheaper than before I’ve found myself decorating a home for myself in our guild hall. If you’ve found yourself in a similar situation post your beautiful homes in this thread! I’ll start with what I’ve done so far (I do intend to upgrade and add stuff in there for a long long while)

I decided to pick the first temple on the left at upper plaza. It was a place I knew I wanted to decorate as soon as I saw the place. I’ve managed to beat raids so I wanted to have trophies of my achievements. I also wanted a study and a place to listen some music (gramophone is super awesome due to the Halloween theme).

My guild is small and we’re still on Basic decorations and one step up. I’m out of game for today so I’ll have to screen the little cafe and fountain areas I made later to add here.

Meanwhile, where in Lost Precipice is the building you are using there? I’m racking my brains to figure it out. Is it part of “further exploration” for a level 40 guild?

Yeah, it’s part of the further exploration upgrade. You can get there with smart decoration placing though. Check my position on the mini map.

Really Fenom? That’s actually kind of sad.
The guild I’m in, officers and above can, and if members want to, they just have to ask for the permissions.

Decorating a spot for your own home is a great idea. I will have to stake a claim in our guild hall while I can.

Replaced the basic shrubs with potted cypress. Lobby is starting to look a lot better. Before and after images attached!

You did know that you no longer need the decorations merchant unlocks for all the basic decorations? The master scribe sells all basic decorations for 50 silver as soon as you unlock the workshop (so no decorations merchant needed. Its only use is to buy them cheaper now (24 silver instead of 50).

Thats sad to hear. As a guild leader i love to see what others make and decorate so i try to keep it open as much as possible. After running into some issues with home made jumping puzzle contests (where some members where building ‘shortcuts’ instead of following the puzzle as it was made by the contest holder) as well as hitting the max decorations cap we had to limit acces a bit… but members can always request it.
In addition in the mean time we build up an Alliance guild hall that is shared with various guilds in which everyone can join and can have decoration permissions + decorate as much as they like, although the max decorations limit in a hall is still a potential issue.

Great topic, this makes me think if we should consider removing one of our jumping puzzles so we can put some decorations around (the decoration limit is kind of an issue atm)

I misspoke. I meant I am on those, in that I am a lowbie scribe and am the prime maker of stuff for the hall. If I didn’t need ten coarse sand per decoration for making things and skilling up, we’d have a ton more stuff. The basic stuff lets you do interesting things, though. I’m looking forward to when we get Market 2 and can furnish the airship!

Meanwhile here is how I’ve made the Workshop area into a fountain plaza and the edge of the Market into a cafe.

Yeah guild halls are awesome and have a lot of potential but those issues hinder them greatly. I think if guild halls were more accessible to individuals like wildstar housing we’d be seeing a lot more awesome creations. I’m a bit torn because it’s awesome that guilds have something to work toward and slowly build together, but it stinks that every time I place something it limits someone else. If I had my own housing hall I could make stuff guilt free.

Every home needs a fireplace of some kind and that’s just what I added today!

@aquathanos I did a similar setup with that area for our library:D Will post a screen when I get home, I do want to upgrade the bookshelves to the wide ones, and use a different location for my library, but theyre kind of pricy, and not many of my guildies are donating mats lol (I could pay for em all, but… eh….. lol)

As a human necro main I felt like I had to have Grenth statue in my home so here it is. Made some other upgrades to the lobby as well to flesh the place out a bit

Totally love it! I like how you placed the statue of Balthazar under the arena. Only problem with decorations at the moment is the decoration limit, today i wanted to start a “maze garden”, well it just won’t let me do it, in the end i made only a small cute garden and a private lovers corner

One of us.. One of us… Yeah it’s pretty addicting Also, nice stuff you have come up with. Would be nice to see some of these places in game as pictures don’t always do justice to the decorations.

Yea I wanna make a maze garden too, but limits as well as price of hedge… lol, n sadly, we have tons for Charr Copters but not nearly as many of those flower walls.

Fell in love with the highback chair so decided to make a dinner table combo with those puppies and a long fancy table. Can’t make much more ‘cos I’m starting to hit decoration cap almost everywhere in the house Would it be too much to ask for Anet to remove the local cap pretty please.

Currently in the process of building a Library of Whispers. Still need a few more walls yet, but you get the idea.

I h8 the local decoration cap aswell, it harshly restricts our imagination I bet we will see some really impressive stuff if they remove or increase the limit.
