Dyes used: perseverance , shiver sky, celestial

These are who I’d consider to be decent and fit the criteria.

With Caudecus’s Manor in the PvP mix I finally got the pants I’ve been eyeing for my heavy .

And I finally sprang for the Norn T3 top for my Ice-brooded “Jora Corrupted” (wielding Coldsnap of course!)

OMG I love threads like this.

Charr Warrior: T3 Shoulders, T2 Chest/Legs, Temple Hands/Feet; Dyed steel, burnished steel, and salmon – these match Legionnaire weapons well.

Norn Guardian: Radiant Hands/Shoulders, Vigil Helm, Heavy Plate Chest/Feet, Carapace Legs; Dyed Fluff, Blue Tint, and Celestial

Sylvari Necro: Skull Mask (necro starter) Helm, Vestments of the Lich Chest, Cabalist Legs, Seer Boots on Feet; Dyed a combo of several greens to get cloth tones to match up, with Cream on the legs so the bat wing matched the bird skull.

Human Thief: Conquest Helm (from PvP), Outlaw Shoulders, Sneakthief Hands/Legs, Stalwart Feet; Dyed a combo of various yellows/tans/browns, and Scarlet I believe, to match the Lionguard weapons/theme.

Asuran Engineer: T3 Helm, Rubicon Shoulders, T2 hands, Magitech Chest/Legs/Feet (from Gem store, sadly); dyed a combo of Denim, Celestial, and the brightest blue I could find to try and match the eye glass (can’t remember the color, sorry!)

Sylvari Elementalist: Flamekissed headpiece, Flame Legion shoulders, Nightmare Court Chest/Legs, Seer’s Hands/Feet; Dyed a combo of Cinnamon, Cheery, Apricot, Flare, and I believe Antique Gold.

Sylvari Mesmer: T2 Head/Chest/Shoulder, I think T1 Hands…could be T2, with Nightmare Court legs; Dyed all sorts of nonsense blue/teal/purple hues. Looks good with pink highlights, too!

Decided I’d post a picture of my main Elementalist, who I’m working on world completion very slowly right now. I keep getting distracted by working on completing the carapace sets.

Head : Ele starter (fire stone)

Gloves: Illustrious
Legs: Phoenix
Boots: Illustrious

Dyes are a mixture of yellows (illumination on chest, gloves, legs and butter on shoulders and boots) that look the same on different armor for highlights with I think Sapphire and Shadow Turqoise and some Stream in there for a lighter color.

I’m just waiting on HoT so I can finally use Twilight with this getup.

The only thing I’m disappointed about with the light armor is that there’s only one short skirt (apprentice) that seems to be mix-and-matchable. The rest have leggings and look odd without the rest of the set.

Probably you want to not have shoulders showing with that top … how would they attach? But one option would be the Temple Armor one (Aurora?), as it’s a metal applique to one shoulder.

Otherwise, peruse the wardrobe (carapace with butterfly might work).

Heres another screenshot with the weapons of my choice. I snarfed the bolt skin from my small Asura thief. As i like playing with the focus a lot i decided to use the skin of the accursed chains. U may think… why not use the anomaly or the spirit links. Because thats too much “bling bling” in addition to the bolt effects. Your eyes dont know which weapon to focus.

I mostly like combining single armor pieces. At this small “goblin” i tried to make him look kinda special wearing an outfit and a combined armor.

I use carapace chest leggings and gloves but phalanx boots human tier 3 shoulders and wreath of cooperation it makes for one heck of a holy knight look I can post more if people want.

I’ve gone back to the starter armors for a simplistic look. I’ve got a helm in mind (namely the unreleased set which has been datamined by that_shaman and I seriously hope that Anet do not screw up the beard clipping on this visored helmet!)

If I could get a bear skin or cloak; I’d be close to achieving my dream of a Talos look. But we’ll see. For now, quite happy running around like this – sometimes I even enabled my Commander’s Shoulderplates (Human T1) for that one-sided shoulder protection

PS: Actually, I ran like this in WvW and people would not invite me to their group because they thought I was low-level! xD

Steam Punk Asura Engineer. I have been using this set for a few months, it is my favorite so far.

This is probably one of the most unorthodox setups I have ever put together and a lot of people have expressed like and dislike for it. I personally love it but it is a niche taste understandably.

Why does your character look so similar? I’d suggest the Sylvari T3 shoulders, but I doubt they’d suit you. ;P

Finally, a post I must post upon. Because I have 9 characters at level 80 and 3 more being leveled up…and all the 80’s have mix and match armor…this is gunna be a big one.

My warrior, Idris Goldendust runs studded plate boots, vigil’s leggings, whisper’s chestpiece, fused gauntlets, carapace shoulders and vigil’s helm.
My necro, Eilalai Everlunar runs carapace boots, t3 human skirt, carapace chestpiece, winged gloves, t3 human shoulders and seer’s mask.

Just gotta make my ascended legs and then this is what i will look like

Thx for the tip; I’ve tried it before but then you also get that massive backpack whereas I only want a bear skin cloak draped over shoulders and back. The Koda shoulder could work due to the bear skin on the back, but really… just hoping there’ll be fur cloaks in the future

Not sure if this counts as pure mix n match as it’s all sylvari cultural (Except the Glint mask), but it’s a mix of all tiers in a ‘which side are you supposed to be on anyway?’ colour scheme.
