Potential Gw2 Forums Website Improvement
~Glitch
Forum is broken because contractors did a bad job. Nobody at ANet can fix it, so they’re probably going to eventually just scrap it and switch to a new forum software.
Well all i will say is that there are plenty of people out there looking for where they belong in GW2. If helping their players have a good time by connecting them with other players in a fashion that doesnt involve 8 server transfers and hours looking through the disorganized forum walls isnt one of their top priorities?….they will start losing players. Even with the new HoT coming out.

Whoever these “contractors” are need to give up their day jobs and do something meaningful in life, because these forums are a disaster.
There are well known forum software systems that are used all over the world and some …person… at Anet had some obsession with re-inventing the wheel. At the very least they should have chosen their contractors more carefully. The people they hired obviously were better at selling their service than actually providing it.
Neural, the contractors are long gone, there is no one to work on the forums. To redo the forums, ANet would have to contract for a complete from-the-ground-up new code.
I don’t think “disaster” is quite right. The search function is a failure, true, but the forums are easy and fast to navigate and the conversations are easy to follow. There’s not a lot of wasted space on images and post frames. If/when they do replace the forums my hope is that the “feel” will be the same with a bit more functionality under the hood.
