That’s all I want. There is no combination that includes this. I can get Power and Healing, but I have to take Toughness. I can take Vitality and Healing but I have to take Condition Damage. I can take Power and Vitality but I have to take almost anything that isn’t Healing. All I want to do is replace some of my Toughness with Vitality, without seriously reducing my Healing and Power. We just got eight new sets and not a single one provides this combination.

Pff, there’s gear mixes. Use it.

Why dump two worth-less stats on gear anyway? Toughness mitigates damage better and Healing Power is a waste.

Many alts; handle it!

Wha!?
Do you play the game!?

Toughness alone increases you defense and is great against single/direct target damage however with toughness alone you will get wiped by Condi dmg some of which tic for a set amount of damage and toughness provides no defense against it.

Vitality alone increases your overall health pool and single target/direct damage will take huge chunks out of it even with the increased health. However with Vitality you are provided an excellent buffer against condi damage since that can tic for a set amount of damage it can be completely ignored for the most part with high enough Vit.

Healing power needs to be fixed and is indeed useless to a degree while a zerker build pretty much only relies on healing power and mitigation skills you have enough healing power off the bat to heal yourself effectively. As for healing other people it’s an outgoing skill like Power or Condi however Healing doesn’t count for event completion and due to the nature of the mechanics in this game a pure healer is actually a detriment to a party rather than a boon.

Basically a loose meaning..
Toughness counters Power
Vitality counters Condi Damage

Mesmers aren’t OP at all it’s just people don’t have any Vit so my Condi Mesmer eats there faces in pvp and yet I’m the one to get nerfed!? again and again and again etc…

Toughness doesn’t counter power…

Toughness and power are equivalent to each other.

Toughness is better for extended fights against power than vitality because it technically boosts the effectiveness of your healing against power.

Vitality is straight up better for your EHP on every single class except for potentially Necromancer because they have such a high base HP and the low armor class. That said, Vitality is FAR from wasted on Necromancers because it raises EHP against conditions as well as power while also helping their shroud’s EHP against both and since shroud fills based on a percentage, Vitality also increases “healing” effectively for them. That said, if you are going for a tanky Necromancer build I would throw on a piece or two of Cavalier instead of all Valkyrie just to get an effective ~10% boost to your direct damage EHP. It’s less important when you have ascended gear because it gives more armor to begin with, but Necros do have that awesome Toughness→power trait now..

ENDRANT

tl;dr: No stat counters another stat, technically speaking. There’s just stats that are objectively more efficient than other stats. Healing Power is objectively bad. Vitality is better than toughness for overall EHP but can fall behind in long fights without many conditions (never actually happens).

My understanding of toughness is that each point over 2000 is increasingly less valuable. Mine is over 3000, I want to convert SOME of it to Vitality.

I don’t use conditions, so condition damage is a totally worthless stat. I could put into precision, but unless I committed to precision to get at least 50% it is also a worthless stat, so I’d prefer not to bother. Without committing to precision, Ferocity becomes a worthless stat as well at that point.

Healing Power keeps my regen high enough to out heal most damage I experience and personal healing high enough to negate all the rest.

If you’re just sprinkling in a few pieces of armor, there’s no need for a new gear set.

A piece of Valkyrie and a piece of Zealot tilts toward higher damage. Magi gives both defense stats and Precision, which is better for sigil/trait activation anyway.

Wouldn’t have to beg for new sets if ANet had designed their crafting and gear sets wisely. :\

Healing power is a near worthless stat, you don’t want to waste points on it. Check out the scaling of your skills, it’s just horrible. Now factor in that much of your healing will be wasted on targets at full health.

If you can provide protection boon duration is much better, if you can supply weakness condition duration is much better and in both cases your mitigating more damage then any amount of healing power would provide.

This is coming from someone who loves healing and owns a full celestial ascended set.

They should have rolled healing power in with boon duration but it looks like they will just continue to have it sit on the backburner so i’d avoid if at all possible.
