Carapace Armor, at first glance, looks pretty cool. Well Heavy and Medium anyways. Light doesn’t look that good IMO.
Can’t wait to see the RNG drop rate of those bandit chests…

Sinister gear recipes. Wonder what that stat combo is going to be.

In Episode 5, players will be able to collect the shoulders with new pieces of the set released in subsequent episodes. Then over time as players prove their mastery over the Silverwastes, they will find ways to upgrade Carapace armor into the new Luminescent armor set.

Aww crap. Gonna take at least 4 months (if its one armor piece/section per two week release) just to get a complete Carapace armor set. Don’t really look forward to that…

RNG and extreme farming will ruin it. Too bad, the armor actually looks interesting and might bring some people back…but the amount of sensless grind + RNG will kill it as any content they put in. Maybe there’s another one of dem’ “legit exploit areas”

Wonder how much grind is needed for that.

Oh…….a lot……trust me…the amount of grind it will take for u to unlock those skins will be close to Moises’s splitting the waves, from a biblical point of view.

First u need to grind tokens, which are effected by RNG..u will need a ton of them for all recipes.

Then you have to grind some extra special rare item like the ones we needed for the weapon skins in Dry Top (80% sure) – fossilized whatever but different name…same 0.00000000001% dropchance.

Then u will need to grind T6 mats both for the runes & for the armor itself.

THEN after u make the carapace set, u need to find something else to make it look shiny.

This looks like one of the better looking armor sets released so far.

Is it bad that I don’t remember the ‘cliffhanger ending’ of the previous chapter? Oh, wait, it was the thing with the ‘if you know who is a projection why is the projection behaving like a real thingee’ thing. Okay.

Yea sry…in my language it has that extra “i” and misspelled it by accident.

I’m not that concerned with grind, as long as there’s no cut off time or punishment for not grinding as quickly as possible (like I’m sure will be the case with geodes… and might be again for bandit chests…).

Those should be permanent. I wouldn’t worry about it. Recently all content they release is permanent content.

I know, my fear of course is that 1 year from now all the players would have moved on to new content, and if they implement systems like Dry Tops it might be very difficult if not impossible to solo to a high enough tier to buy items or get access to items.

Cloth top (female,) medium boots are the only pieces that look interesting and worth the time. Really happy they are finally adding more armor sets to obtain IN GAME, despite most of it being not my taste.

For male characters, I have to say that those heavy and medium sets are some of the best ones I’ve ever seen.

I wonder if there is going to be some ‘hard’ reset of those points we’re supposed to hold (like the end of sandstorm in Drytop). Because otherwise I can see (at least for the first couple of days) them never reverting back due to the number of players that’ll be doing the content.

Should we hold off on completing the story in case there are any Anet approved exploit areas that only those who hold off can access?

One of those articles states, “If the living world makes you yawn, take heart because the update also features gameplay tweaks…”

Wonder what the possibilities are that any of these ‘gameplay tweaks’ address the trait system redesign and/or the somewhat less than tidy alterations made to the personal story?

It’s sad enough it states the LS story might make u yawn. Dat marketing.

And yet another long coat for rangers. Bleh. Probably won’t bother with this one.

I like the light boots, assuming they are separate as they seem.

Sadly, there isn’t much left of the avatar to enjoy the nice things any more.
