Precocious aurene
You are not supposed to kill that boss alone. At a certain point your extra skill will be active and you need to stay in the big white circle then use that skill. Aurene will damage the mob and if I recall you simply repeat that 2 times and the mob is dead.
I’ve been on that platform for 45 minutes. aurene isn’t attacking. the skill has procced once in that 45 minutes. there’s no white circle, just a big platform surrounded by water.
in that time, I got the mob to 50% health, as a result of one proc of that skill for aurene. the mob simply healed itself back to full health by sucking it out of me, or my pet.

The white circle appears on top of the platform and when it does you simply enter it and click the new skill. If Aurene is stuck and isn’t doing anything then it’s probably a bug and you need to restart the instance.
After about 1 min of the fight, a small white patch appears on the ground near the boss. When you move onto it, Aurene will move to the other and the boss will be damaged when you use your Mastery skill.
If one isn’t appearing, it could be a bug, but it’s not one I’ve heard about yet. Might be a new one that has crept in.
IIRC your player character also yells something at Aurene when her attack is available to use.
I’ve done this mission solo on at least five professions, including a druid. It’s not only possible, it’s not that hard.
Two circles spawn. A smaller circle for Aurene and a larger circle a few seconds later for you. Get into the white circle. Wait for the skill to appear over your five skill. Click the skill. That’s pretty much it. Then the enemy can be damaged.
Do it a couple of times and you’re done.
Not really sure that the problem is.
Too bad there is not something obvious about it. I was on the verge of quitting but asked my guild what to do first.
The problem was, that none of that was happening…I apologize for my anger. It is very frustrating trying to solve these riddles the developers of games today seem to feel the need to throw into the game. While my character may be from this world, I the player am not. some clear explanation of mechanics needs to be used to help understand how to do these things. It seems like to many companies today are writing these quests, objectives, tools to a point of blind confusion. I don’t mind having to figure things out, but some things should be more clearly defined. Rather than having to go outside the game to a video and a instuction manual.
I have actually completed that part. after the 3rd time restarting the final instance from writing this thread. I did finally start seeing the white circles appear and the dragon did attack.
II’d really love to see the day when gaming companies get back to writing games that don’t need a video and a college degree to play them

Sorry you were having a bit of trouble with that instance. I can’t help but find this funny though. It seems that’s its either hit or miss with mechanical clarity: Either something is incredibly laid out to the point that it’s obnoxious to even look at, or it’s so vague that you have to have it done before you actually know how to do it.

I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.

If you want the Dev’s explanation on how and why this instance was created, you can watch the Guild Chat on Aurene available on Twitch and/or YouTube.
But, I’m guessing that wasn’t really what you were asking in the OP.
Good luck.
I am told you can just coompletely ignore that mechanic and burn it down with enough damage as well. I have yet to try with any character that has enough damage though. I still need at least one stun.

It is possible. the boss heals when he pulls you in so if you avoid the pull he will only heal from Aurene. Then it’s possible to kill it ignoring the mechanic
