Once upon I time I recall Anet talking about bringing the ability to craft precursors, acknowledging that an RNG system wasn’t optimal for creating your legendary.

Well, now that we have ascended crafting seems to me like it wouldn’t be difficult to implement.

Personally, I’ve been working on my Bifrost for 8 months now, been sitting on all three gifts since April, thrown about 300 gold into the mystic forge for The Legend and then started saving up only to see the price climb from 550g to a whopping 900g now. That is a staggering amount to someone like me who spends almost all of their time in this game in WvW instead of CoF farming.

tl;dr, Anet please implement a non-RNG way to obtain precursors before we grow old and die. <3

Chances are you will grow old and die trying to obtain everything you need to craft your precursor…careful for what you wish for! :-P

I’ve already quit trying to get my precursor. I dumped 100g in one month, then another 100g the next month. 200g flushed down the mystic toilet.

Duno how you can continue playing this game my friend. Your willpower is bigger than mine.

You should definitely be able to craft a precursor, if you can craft an ascended weapon. Sadly even if they did that… Duno if I could keep playing at this point.

I’m almost positive that the majority of these people running around with legendary weapons paid for them through the TP and didn’t even make them themselves, and it wouldn’t surprise me if ANET were the ones posting them on the TP in the first place.

I remember someone suggesting they make ascended weapons a replacement/alternative for a precursor. But will arenanet do that? Noooooo, they gotta make it RNG because what else will the mystic toilet eat?

Well I hear lots of these types of stories, but just b/c there’s a slot machine in center of LA, you don’t have to use it and certainly not waste such a huge amount of money that you could have saved toward your precursor.

The only people that can afford to use MF for precursor chance are TP flippers and gold sellers, so leave that to them and save your money to buy one like i did.

I started playing game at head start and aside from crafting a few exos for my chars, saved all my mats and money and it took me 9 months or so to achieve it. Then again, i never wasted my money in the MF and although the prices have gone up since i bought my precursor for the Bifrost, the gold is much easier to come by these days. I paid 630 for The Legend and at the time that was the most expensive precursor to buy, but i was lucky to earn 1-2g a day. Granted, i didn’t farm CoF like everyone else or anything else for that matter, except perhaps gathering resources daily.

So my advice is, don’t waste ur money in MF only a few lucky ones will get one, it’s no different than trying to win Grand Lottery! So save your money, keep an eye on the prices every day on precursors and you can always place an order for an amount you’re prepared to pay once u save that amount.

P.S. I’m pretty sure CJ said a while back they’re planning to ad ability to craft a precursor by the end of the year i think. So keep your fingers crossed while you go about saving ur money to buy one.
