I recently acquired the precursor I need to craft my legendary but I still have some components to go before it is complete. My question is can I use/equip the precursor and still be able to use it to create my legendary? I do not wanna equip it and find out I can no longer use it to create the legendary.

Yes you can. The only thing you need to do is put it in the mystic forge, making it soulbound wont stop you from doing that.

You can equip it but make sure you don’t transmute it.

Make sure you equip it on the character you want to have the legendary weapon though.

I don’t think it matters. The legendary itself comes out “Soulbound on use” which is why people can sell them on the TP.
