I have no specific love for WvWvW players, but it’s one of the last explorations of the game (after literally doing everything else).

With the recent lamentation in the forums over precursors, why aren’t WvW vendor items included in the mystic forge? A dedicated WvW player is husk of an economic representation of the player base. The spark in a WvWvW’s player’s eyes in receiving a donation of a stack of flame rams……..makes me feel guilty.

These guys are like South Park Kenny poor.

Badge of Honour weapons should not only be salvageable, but forgeable. They should apply to precursor opportunities. This would moderately drop the TP prices that have the PvE crowd QQing over, and provide a much needed validation to PvP player’s bank accounts.

Feed a broke PvPer today!

Are you kidding me? Around of 40% of precursors drop registereds are from WxW drop (Lv up chets, and player kill drops). Also, wxw is well know as one of the best ways to get t6 mats (All of’em, due to heavy loot bags). And for last, KARMA and SP are really strong in wxw.

What a wxw player is missing?

Either way most of us could give two kittens about legionaries.
Most of us would be happy if there was a dedicated WvW team year round addressing issues with the game mode as their major focus, bottom line. T

WvW might not be as rewarding as dungeon speed runs or whatever the FOTM farming spot is, but it beats most PVE activity. The constant flow of blue and green drops from veteran NPC kills, and bags from tower and keep lords really adds up.

If WvW players are poor its probably because of all the upgrades, and spending money on siege.

Yep, just lower the amount of badges you can easily obtain in EotM.
People aint going for badges anyway, they are just going for huge farm & xp !

Considering people have bank tabs full of gifts for an legendary , it might be a good idea to adjust the drop rate of precursors.. waiting for over a year now to be able to craft any legendary..

then again..

according to whisper spam 100g is worth 4 bottles of milk, some bread and a few eggs now.. :P

Yup, prices on ectos and other mats might get reasonable again. The idea would give value to my pile of badges too. Not a bad thing at all, imo.

The point of my post is that when you involve other players into the reward equation, things get complicated because it opens the door to abuse and exploits. The EotM karma train was not intentional by design.

Lupi won’t let you farm him for free loot, he’ll ‘give his all’ in every fight, but players won’t do that, they’ll set up ways to farm the system like a machine.

So the question then is, how do you set the rewards? Set them to level with people are playing properly and thus give the players who abuse the system disproportionate rewards? Or set the rewards to level with the abusers and leave the players playing properly in the dust?

It just doesnt work either way.

their own opinion is the source. i can tell you from experience(90+% of my time spent in game) from playing wvw since launch, that we have been looked over so many times that it could depress an optimist. the drops i get are absolute kitten. i’ve got over 100% magic find and i’m just not seeing it.(maybe because i play power necromancer main, easiest thing to kill on it’s own when it’s out of a zerg) i get a ton of kills, from keep/tower champs to playerkills. never get anything good from countless champion bags/loot bags, save for the bloodstone dust which i can’t even use yet. (lol legendary farming) getting a precursor from wvw would be my dream it would mean i would never have to do pve at all ever, however, the game is designed in such a way that it economically punishes those who do not like to pve. not to mention my achievement points were sub-4000 before the WvW tournaments were introduced, and they stagnate after the tournament is over.

Anyways, my take on it would be that initially BoH dropped like candy from the EB JP chest. People were quick to get alts and mesmers portalling your alts to the chest. If you had a few alts you could get say 100 BoH a day for 30mins worth of work as well as get siege weapons etc. This was back when the chest was toon bound not account bound.

Since then we’ve had EotM K-Trains that give you heaps and if your on a high tier server you get a lot just because your fighting/killing more.

So there’s an abundance of BoH in the market and ANet want to control that because it will have an adverse affect on the market if BoH gets dumped on it.

Some people have Millions of Karma and Karma gear, while not salvageble, can be thrown in the forge… To not mention how easy it is to get Karma, as you can get it by doing PvE and/or WvW. Saying that having a lot of badges in the game is the reason that we can’t throw WvW gear in the forge is rather absurd…

Well after tossing countless weapons, etc. into the Mystic toilet I did finally get a pre-cursor from a WvW drop, the Tooth of Frostfang, from of all things a camp scout while I was soloing an undefended camp.
