My guildee has been banned twice now in 3 weeks for being a gold seller.

He sent 20g to a friend. First ban.

Got the account unbanned then banned again after sending more money to a guildee. Ironically he got that email the same day as he got the “ticket resolved” email.

I should mention also that he lives in China.

I can only surmise that their system flags “large” (20g?) quantities of gold being sent from Asian based accounts.

The fact that this has happened twice now proves that each ban is anything but thorough. And he’s still waiting for a response from Anet.

Care to explain?

While I empathize with you and your guildmate, how is going to the Forums about this going to help? I don’t think the Mods can do a thing about it, or give you anything but a canned response. Not trying to talk down to anyone, but there could be effort less wasted by going through other means.

It’s not just conspiracy threads, it’s complaint threads or threads that make arenanet look bad in general, I think… they get their underwear in a wad every time…

At any rate, this has been a problem for a long time. And I think making threads about these problems is helpful, because it raises awareness and forces the company to address the problem. Good luck to you and your friend.
