Here’s the four looks I like best from among my characters. No skimpy outfits here (you’ll notice my human Mesmer is nowhere to be found… She’s not high enough level yet for me to invest in a nice wardrobe for her)
I love your norn’s armour on the left! Looks fab.
Thanks! Other than the order of whispers boots clipping, around the knees I really like it. I found that midnight blue very early on and haven’t been able to find a different color scheme I like better.
Practical? I’m not sure but they win some internet.
+1 internets for each one of them
Recently made this armor set myself, gives a very samurai look I think!
Now if only there were katana weapons…
I wish these skins were for armor. Pity best hat my Asuran has worn so far is town clothes only lol.
FIRE BURNS!!!!!!!
I’m thinking of switching to CoF chest and Sorrow Shoulders.

It’s a shame the concept of town only clothes exists at all… I would love to have glasses on my characters.
This thread is for those of you who prefer a more practical, “modest” look for your female (or male) characters.
I think my Vigil Mesmer is dressed quite modestly. She has a noble background. Yes, it’s PvE armor. It’s light armor, too.

My Thief in her Noble armor set (actually, the Noble skin over exotic armor with Mad King runes):
Don’t know how practical leaves are but here it is.
Technically, with respect to lore, cultural sylvari armour is just an extension of there body, so by that definition, when they where their cultural armour and cloths, they are still naked,. kinda like animals with their fur.
Finally!!!.. I was beggining to think I was the only one that really liked the guild greatsword look…:)
And my Thief in her Whispers/Outlaw armor (again, skins over exotic armor, this time with Magic Find runes).
Here are 3 of my characters (From top to bottom): My human thief SHINOBI, my human warrior Oboro, The Wolf, and my charr guardian MOONBLADE….
Went and made another armor set … my Third Rampager’s stats with Mad King Runes this time. Strangely, this cosmetic wasn’t so much as planned, but fell together by circumstance and I couldn’t resist.
I know, I know. Its not an exact fit for the character inspiration but rather a loose approximation, but I couldn’t help but make a small connection with the setup.
Meet the allusion to Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite! Its Pretty, yet Practical as well. Includes a flock of Birds on the Elite Skill in homage to the Songbird, and even Portals!
This is my set for my main, my elementalist. I like the practical, comfortable adventurer look it has. I’d prefer it if her legs were completely covered but I love the HotW skirt so much I’m willing to overlook that.
Here’s my Guardian! I’m pretty happy with how the armor turned out. Good thing we have AC.
Posted in another thread but thought id share here aswell.
I see what you did with those wings!
I suppose I’ll join in on this. Honestly I forget the purpose of threads like this but looking over other players characters defiantly helps with armor combo’s you may have missed.
My first is Witchy Bon, she’s a elementalist that’s supposed to look like she’s wearing a lab scientist sorta thing. She’s crazy about alchemy. It seems practical I think, maybe not exactly for combat but it’s roomy enough for it.
My Charr Engineer
Eagle Eye Googles
Duelist Shoulders
Priory Chest
Priory Gloves
Studded Pants
Studded Boots
Glyphic Pistols
Guild Backpack
Colors are Charcoal, Ebony, and Burnished Steel
I won third place in a armor contest with this on my server ;3
Sadly it was day time so it did not look as good as it does in this screen, but eh.
Not sure if it meets the criteria of this thread, but it does to me personally.
“In order to understand the hells that plague Ascalon, one must embody it. Embody Hell. Becoming a servant to the flame and wielding it’s untouched glory. Being shrouded by ash, brimstone, fire and lava. Only those that understand may defeat. Demons of the flame, elementals from the hells. All with one task. Incinerate. Maybe now you understand why I task myself with this road to incineration.” ~JawDane
My battle mage
My lovelies. :-)
I must admit: My wife designed most of their color schemes. The only one I did myself was Kayni the Kind. xD I love having a gamer wife.

I have come to like this look on my mesmer so much that I keep transmuting to it. The colors aren’t practical … much … but when you think about it, the clones do need to draw attention!

Donari! Since when do you have an asura mesmer?! :-O
Also, fancy meeting you here!

She’s… staring at me… why does she keep staring at me?!!
STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHP /hides under desk
My Mesmer wears more of a “battle mage” type of armor (1st pic). It’s not Mesmer~like or elegant at all, he looks more like an Elementalist if you ask me!
So I had to make a new set for him (this would be his Berserker’s set) that only Mesmers would wear (2nd pic)

There’s a mesmer in my guild that I could swear is just a confused Necro. At least…by the looks of him.
Im still trying to find boots that I’m happy with. I’d love to have more heavy legs that arent skirts.
LumAnth, what pants are you wearing in the second shot? I have a guild mesmer that is desperate for a pants outfit rather than concealing robes.

It’s human cultural pants tier 2.
Sorry for late response.
It has a but cape :-)
These are what im currently wearing in pve and pvp…
some may think its not practical, but it really depends on what youre planning to do with it. my pvp armor allows optimal movement without a huge dress or tight pants getting in the way, yea, thats a good excuse.
Who needs protective clothing if you dont get hit anyway?
Looks like I am a little late to the party. However here is my Guardian. Not the most practical set because of the spikes. But I love the Lich King vibe it gives off. While still looking Noble Coupled with a full ghastly set and its a great look.
