23/24 hours since this thred/topic is up,a simple “Yea is a bug and we will fix it or was intended and we will never fix it because is nothing to fix” would be nice.I dont ask for a fix on sunday,mondey or other day,i ask first an answer and even if is sunday,(in many countries is not) ppl are still working because the game can not run without ppl.
A thing that got my attention,in a topic about mesmer bug , “Evan Lesh”,i dont know if he is a dev, gm or mod,explains about why the bug occured with mesmers : " We’re aware. Should be able to fix it up on Monday. It’s part of the gear-locking change. We’ll probably turn gear-lock back off for a bit, and then push the real fix asap."
Is this “gear-locking” = can’t preview other armors type?

Yes, please remove this silly restriction. I DO have alts, and I want to check that armour out without having to tab out and check a website that takes screenshots of every single armour look in the game. <.<
Another patch,small one and still no preview…Many ppl forget that the games are made for players and we buy this games with money,we support them,we pay for the bills they have,we feed them and all i want is justice and make my voice heard.So many people are used to shut their mouths even if they dont agree with the changes but we are the people who keep the game alive,the game is made for us and in change we pay them for that. I am sure that the preview remove was intended and we want it back.
I will fight for this and i wont give up!

mildly annoyed by it, but since you can’t preview where it counts and have to look it up anyway (3-figure gold items on the TP), I’m not having fits over it.
Anet, please do fix it, after you deal with the loot DR and “fractal-only ascended gear killing the world” issues.
There is also a possibility that previously we able to preview armor that we cannot wear was a bug that was recently fixed while the weapons is yet to be fixed but eventually it will be ‘fixed’

You have a point but whats the bug here…is that a real bug that i can preview the items,i dont see it like a bug and the bug would be how it is now…

Ageed. Preview of all equipment, irrespective of class, has to be the norm.
I would even ask for a feature to be able to switch race and gender while previewing so as to be able to see all versions of the armor. This is very useful to keep in mind interesting items for my other characters.
As others have complained, so do I. I like to get clothes for alts. I like to have guildies link outfits that I can then view to get an idea of their look. Simple enough to have any bind on acquire be unpurchaseable if not equippable, hey?
Even I am still mad about this lack of preview since the update. I want the preview back to the way it was since there was nothing wrong with it in the first place. Now my warrior being a tailor i would like to see what heck I’m making in terms of how it’ll look on my Ele, Mesmer, or Necro rather than switching characters to just look at an item. So again change previewing back to the way it was.
Yeah, but when you realize that they only answer maybe 1% of big (high-volume) complaints like this quickly.. XP
We STILL have no meaningful word (the admission from Chris that they were avoiding the issue until it came up on Reddit doesn’t count, since they have yet to actually get back to us on how their investigation is going) on the poor post-Nov14 droprates.

I am also upset at this change. I really enjoyed viewing other armor, even if I couldn’t wear it. Sometimes it would help me discover new pieces of armor for alts, or I just liked looking at the other cultural armors for my race, but not necessarily for my class.
To me, it doesn’t make sense why the change was made and why it wasn’t announced.
Please, ArenaNet, change it back.

Posting here again, because it would be very nice to get some kind of official response on this.
I am typically very supportive of GW2 and Anet… but I think this is a REALLY stupid decision (assuming it’s not a bug). For the love of Dwayna and all that is holy, please change it back…
I really do not think it is a luxury in any MMO to be able to preview a piece of gear, regardless of whether your character can actually wear it…. and regardless if said item happens to be at a vendor, in your inventory…. or coughcough at the Trading Post. This is even more true in a game that is, in large part, cosmetically driven.
Along with all the reasons mentioned by others so far…
So many of the icons give no idea what the armor actually looks like. Too many armors (especially at karma vendors) use the same icon for different looks. So if I’m getting a piece to transmute to another armor class I want to be able to see what I am buying!
I see no logical sense behind this change.
If people were buying the wrong armor then, good grief, just put in a sell back option!
It’s pretty funny considering the fact that we’ve been asking for a TP preview since launch. Apparently that’s hard, but snap your fingers and you get this.
completely agree. I want to preview all the stuff, especially greatswords (i am looking for a new one on my ranger, but i play mostly ele at this moment), and i want finally a preview option in the trading post!

What did this possibly ‘fix’ or ‘solve’? Other than making it annoying, to drag a 1st level character to the PvP locker to go clothes shopping to find out what faction items you want to wear, rather than just mixing and matching with your main, what does this solve?
Was previewing armor you can’t wear what allows people to use 3rd party programs to teleport from node to node around the world?
First time logging into and posting in the forums – for this stupidly annoying game change.
If you want to make it so that I can’t foolishly buy armor that my class can’t equip, fine; I can live with that. But don’t take away the ability to even see it…
Oh, and give us a preview in the trading post. C’mon, it’s 2012, fer kitten’s sake…
I guess I’ll throw my opinion in here as well… It really should be added back, I was very surprised to see it removed. It really is an inconvenience to have to switch characters to see what some pieces of armor I find look like.
Okay wahts up with todays patch other then breaking a VERY IMPORTANT FUNCTION of the game, previewing armours on all my characters. I am very into having lots of diffrent looks for my characters nad like to chop and change and also preview the armours of all the looks available. I used to be able to do thsi on ANY character so as can see what ANY armour looks like . but now all i get when previewing them in my bank or from links is chat is destroy or nothing at all if not on an appropite charcater that can wear it.
As is no wardrobe feature like RIFT or LOTRO in GW we have to transmuste these armours and without a preview for us who like to change and view armours and make looks for our characters, thos who alt and have diffrent classes of chars who wear diuffrent armours are getting a bit of shafting with not seeing armour previews any more
This need changed back to way it was prior to todays patch, also a PREVIEW on the Trading post is most defibnatly needed, as there is no way im buying more bank space if for more storage for my outfits if i cant preview the outfits im getting. And i do not see what need to change alts to view a diffrent armour, This change is not a good one please get it back to all chars seeing all armours/ weapons.
No idea waht Anet are up to nowadays but things dont seem to be going in the right direction, as this change was definatly not required and was not game breaking so it needes brought back to the way it was, as well its very annoying now !!
So it seems it was intentional… I still cant think of a reason behind this, seems like someone just broke something so later he can say: ¨Hey guys we were listening ur complains and we fix it is all good now !!!¨

I noticed the other day that while on my guardian, I could no longer ‘preview’ other pieces of light/medium armor on her, only heavy armor (which is what she wears).
Is there some kind of purpose to this, because it is annoying! I’ll pick up a decent piece of light armor in Fractals and I want to see what it looks like to see if I want to keep it for my elementalist, but I have to log into a character that wears light armor to be able to preview it.
I just want to see what the armor looks like, why do I have to log in and out every time I want to do this?
Revert the change and stop wasting time on changes no one wants/needs. I know that the programming time could have been better spent on any of a thousand other things that should have clearly taken priority over this!
