Q:

Hello,

I just opened a chest I had sitting in my bank and now I have like 10 pieces of low level rare gear.

Each item says “Skin Unlocked”

Can I throw away the items now to free up some inventory space? I only care about the skins, I’ll never wear the actual armor.

Thanks.

A:

Yes, but if you want to double check open your wardrobe on a heavy profession character and make sure they show as available. Plus deleting them would unlock them as well.

Skins are automatically unlocked by any action that binds the item or otherwise removes it from the economy:

  • Binding: equipping or right-clicking to choose Unlock Skin. Skins that are bound-on-acquire are automatically unlocked, e.g. purchasing skins with karma or badges of honor.
  • Removing from the economy: selling to a vendor, salvaging, right-clicking to choose Store in Wardrobe, deleting, or using in the Mystic Forge.

Yes, you can salvage, vendor, forge or otherwise trash these items. Some of these options may not be available for the items depending on how they were acquired…way to go consistency.
