Ever since Robert Hrouda mentioned that he pretty much handles the dungeon work himself with the help of one or two guys (sorry, but I simply can’t find the post, I’ve looked, trust me. Think it was in January.), I’ve not been able to stop wondering how many people Anet’s invested in the onetime events, and how many on more permanent stuff.

How many new legendary weapons could they’ve made with the manpower it required to create SAB? Could they have created a new frac even? New instances? Heck, could they have added the much craved for 1v1 duels?

To me dungeons (+ fractals), legendaries, Orr, mystic forge weapons, skins etc. are the end-game content and that portion of the game has pretty much been at a stand-still ever since they released fractals, even to a point where it’s beginning to feel stale.

It seems they’re keen on the one-time events, and not so much anything else relating to PVE (beside patches and now guild missions). I mean SAB is fun enough, for a couple of days, and it spices things up, but compare that to the hype alone of new legendaries.

Before this becomes a rant, I’ll stop. Anyone else feels the same way? A-net, care to reply? Put my mind at ease by telling me that you’re working on new skins, legendaries, fracs? :P
Edit: … And working a couple of new skills for each profession as well? Talk about spicing things up …

New legendaries? I think that would be a more waste of time then anything at this current time, but for the most part I agree. Multiple seasonal events that changed the worlds maps, 500+ MB in content each, wow! Yet, it only lasted for a few weeks at most. I expected this in year two, maybe no later then three, not IN year one. I think it’s a step backwards in terms of a complete game.

I don’t really see them adding new legendary weapons anytime soon. They’d have to design a whole new set of legendary’s or people would whine and complain that they are favoring certain weapon builds.

Also the only event they have added that was a 1-time event was Lost Shores event, and that zone WAS permanent. All the other seasonal events are just that, seasonal. They will come back year after year during their respective months. And guess what, next year they will have those events already done so they will have all those people working on permanent content, so I suspect we will see a lot more permanent content this coming year.

Was this the right way to do it? Personally I think so. I loved the seasonal stuff, it kept me around and broke up the monotony of the gameplay for me. Either way, It will stop being an issue come August when we’ve had a full year of seasonal events and they are all complete.

I’m guessing the seasonal teams will be working towards expansion in the next year.

And they already favoured greatswords
