I am tired of the events to be honest and it kind of ruins the experience when you complete an event to then return 5 minutes later to see the same event being played out again. The other problem I have with events is that I play pretty late at night when there are hardly any people online so most of the events I see can’t be completed because they are impossible to do solo. I am level 36 or something and I tend to just run right through most events because I find them boring I only ever stop if I see something new like a boss attacking a small town, I find them interesting especially when I am trying to kill it by myself.

The only fun I’ve had really is leveling up my professions but even that is getting a bit boring now and I realized that something wasn’t right about the game when all I was doing was running around gathering stuff rather than doing events or the story quests.

The story quests were okay to begin with but now it seems to be sending me from one zone to another just to spend 10 minutes killing stuff to then be told to meet back up in a main city, I wouldn’t mind so much if I could move a bit faster but the charr if that is what it’s called seems to be in slow-motion. Speaking of the charr and the story mode that sound they make when they talk like teeth clashing together really gets under my skin it’s like I end up counting how many times I hear that sound rather than listening to what they say and now I have lost track of the story all I know is that I have to find gems or something and kill a dragon other than that I have no idea what is going on.

I agree with you on the story mode missions, they do progressively get longer, more drawn out, and basically tedious to do. Some of the ones 50+ are just unbearable to play as killing can get slow and even set to a timer that forces you to battle wave after wave of the same fight over and over again.

As for Dynamic Events happening again, well thats just the thing they are a substitute for the classic pick up quest system and not to be taken too seriously because they are called Dynamic.

Whats wrong with seeing an event starting right as you finish it? are you OCD like me and feel compelled to participate again? hehehe

But seriously, i would much rather see the same event start up right away then see 5-10 people standing around doing nothing or waiting because they missed out on the event. Events scale too depending on the number of people in the area. Every event i’ve done solo up to level 30 has been manageable. For example an event will have 2 mobs coming at me, when someone comes in to join 4 mobs will now appear. But this could also be a profession thing, where some profs/weapons are a lot more OP then others.

I usually only stop to do events if it will help me complete a heart on a map.

At first I would just do the event again but there is only so many times you can stop the same wave over and over again. I understand that your supposed to move from area to area but because I find everything else in the game boring I have been trying to discover all the blacksmithing recipes even the ones that give little experience, it’s just something that’s been keeping me happy till now. So that’s kept me in a low level zone because I have been trying to collect cloth which appears to be extremely rare.

Well if the level 50 story quests are worst than what I am moaning about right now I think I will just not bother with them anymore.

I’ve heard good things about the PVP but like most games like this I tend to stay away from PVP because it’s normally just groups of friends running around together and since I don’t know anyone that plays the game I stand little chance, plus I don’t have the time to learn what everything does so I rather just not play it than be easy points for other players.

There’s a reason this MMO style is called THEMEPARK.

Well I remember theme park the game but I have never heard of it being used in terms of describing another game, why is it a theme park?

You could benefit from a long conversation regarding punctuation.

I mean this is certainly a more open themepark, or themebox, whatever you wanna call it game. A true themepark would be wow.

Dynamic events do not bother me at all really. I roam the map going from heart to heart to vista to point of interest, and I seldom, almost never in fact, cross the same area twice. I usually do whatever events pop up in my area, and I dont see them again. Maybe you should try moving on, or simply dont do the event because its not required .

Also, I do agree events can be a bit tough solo, at least some events. However, events do scale based on the number of people in the area. Aside from a few huge boss fights like the fire elemental, and some dragons.. most can be done with just a few people. Try typing in /map that there is an event and ping the map into the text, people always show up for me.

Lastly, the story does not bother me either. I actually really enjoy the story and enjoy it the most about the game. I guess I just cant relate there. Matter of opinion i guess.

I don’t mind the dynamic events and heart quests but for some reason the leveling is too slow for me, I always end up having to stick around after completing a zone 100%. I know you’re “meant” to go to other equally leveled zones but that just feels wrong to me, I want the story to move forward, not go from the human zones to the Asura and jump in in the middle of that, it doesn’t feel right to me on a role playing level. I also understand that doing a lot of crafting helps, but that’s not something I want to HAVE to do in order to keep up, I’d rather it didn’t give you experience so it was more of a choice.

I wish they would add in a couple of “normal” quests in every zone so that you had the option of what you wanted to do.

Keep in mind that this is completely subjective and it’s not like I’m gonna go and give up just because my play-style makes it harder for me to level up, just wanted to share my opinion.

Edit: I do play every story mission and so far they’ve been the best part for me in this game.

The game won’t be for everyone. We all like different things. My Necro was 80 after week one as I had the week off work. I just started a Guardian and am really making the effort to take my time on this and see the detail.

Like the Norn start zone there is a man you can speak to in the centre and he sends you off to the shrines, never noticed him before, just ran to the hearts. I will be turning off the map details, hearts. POIs and just running around. If you don’t like what you are presented with, maybe this isn’t the game for you.

There is no shame in having an opinion. Fingers crossed you find something more suitable.

I don’t see why they would stop you from giving your account to someone, selling maybe but not saying “I don’t like the game here are my login details”. Maybe because they figured there would be a lot of people like me AKA perfect customers who buy the game and then don’t use much bandwidth, so they don’t want me to give my copy away to someone who could also be a potential perfect customer.

All MMO’s take a tough stance against people who trade accounts. People need to be put off obtaining other peoples accounts otherwise it gets even more profitable for hackers to steal and sell accounts.

Yeah I can understand that, it’s a fair enough reason. I’ve never traded an MMO account but I have given them away like my Wow account I just don’t see why I should leave it there gathering dust. I guess I’ve got some power freak watching my account now for an IP address change so they can ban my account.

I have been trying to play Battlefield 3 since they released that armored kill expansion but even that’s turning out to be a poor investment, it seems I have been a bit unlucky with games so far this year.
