In light of the new weapons for the elite Specializations, what do you think the next Weapon will be?

Here’s my Guess:

Elementalist: Sword
Engineer: Mace
Guardian: ’no idea what so ever, perhaps Axe?
Mesmer: ’no idea about this eighter, Dagger or Pistol perhaps?
Necromancer: Shield
Thief: Rifle
Revenant: Greatsword
Ranger: Hammer or Rifle
Warrior: Pistol

What do you think?

Mesmer – Dagger or Longbow
Ele – Sword
Necro – Shortbow
Thief – Sword offhand
Engineer – Mace
Ranger – Rifle
Guardian – Dagger
Warrior – Pistol
Revenant – Longbow

Kitten.

I think ele sword and thief rifle are pretty much necessary if we don’t want another forum war on our hands, and this is coming from someone who is totally satisfied with thieves getting melee staff.

Gonna be a while, tho.

Thief – Rifle (Gadgets, called Sniper)
Engineer – Axe (Signets, called Carver)

Most of the ele community would be fine with warhorn, if its mechanics weren’t something we already have, which we don’t don’t use because ANet nerfed it out of viability in their blind crusade against the DD Ele.

As for me (in order I play them)
Elementalist: Pistols – Dual, not debatable, do NOT split OH and MH into two specs. Hoping for a roguish spellslinger Gunmage like you find in Final Fantasy and Warmachine.
Necromancer: OH Axe – I just want my old retaliation DS build back…
Engineer: Mace? Basically just so I can use that one single wrench skin. Honestly I’d prefer more kits more than anything, and a REAL tool kit, not a crappy grab bag it.
Mesmer: Daggers – More roguish, dark, tormented, a lot more stealth.
Ranger: Rifle – Hunter
Thief: Rifle – Sniper – Yes I know we already have one, they can fill that same niche while having totally different gameplay.
Guardian: Rifle – HOLY BOLTS, have a neat idea for a sort of long range siege guardian, think Alexander from Final Fantasy.
Warrior: Scepter (lol, kidding, I have no idea) Though I suppose they could just use a scepter as a club, caveman spec?
Revenant: Not playing a class with 1/10th the customization of the base classes.

EDIT: OFFhand, I meant offhand axe…

since no one ever expects an axe? don’t no thought about it, signets are carved into something and you can use axes to carve stuff, sooo…..

Pretty good guesses, I’d say.
I’m guessing something like this:

Elementalist: Sword (Huge fan support for this, no doubt this’ll be next).
Engineer: Mace (seems likely)
Guardian: Axe or more likely an offhand Mace or Sword, I think. (Guns do not fit, imo).
Mesmer: Main hand pistol, offhand dagger or maybe a bow?
Necromancer: Offhand Axe, or shield. (I’m guessing offhand of some sort next).
Thief: Rifle (pretty clear fans demand this haha)
Revenant: Greatsword (Also a very likely choice)
Ranger: Hammer, scepter or maybe focus? (Could see more magic based e-specs)
Warrior: Pistol or Staff (though pistol seems more likely)

Personally I’d more like to see these options though:

Elementalist: Sword (This one sound cool for the future – melee Ele could be sweet).
Engineer: Dagger (off hand or main – commando lives! Close combat could be great!)
Guardian: Axe, or offhand mace or preferably offhand sword (no guns please o.o).
Mesmer: Longbow or Shortbow (amazing possibilities) or maybe axe?
Necromancer: Torch (like a lantern of the dead sort of thing).
Thief: Rifle (Assassin/Sniper does feel appropriate).
Revenant: Greatsword or Longbow (Koss (burns) or Pyre Fierceshot, respectively)
Ranger: Hammer, Scepter or Focus (I can see future specs being mystical)
Warrior: Unarmed! xD (hey, it could happen)

You’re probably right, but I think a lot of people really liked the idea of a battle mage, which I’ll admit is pretty cool. We’ll just have to see what happens. Now that the concept of elite specs are out in the open, we can expect to see SO MUCH more theory-crafting in regards to new specializations.

People are already trying to predict the next weapons, really? Didn’t you learn from the last batch that you can’t predict Anet’s choices? You’re only setting yourself up for disappointment, especially if you’re predicting a bunch of “most wanted mainhand / 2H weapons”.

I hope Dagger mainhand for rangers, preferrably with conditions on autoattack.

Along with perma stealth, 2,000,000% crit damage, 110% crit chance, and infinite dodges/evades…

Oh, wait, that’s the Thief.

Mesmer will defenetly get a main-hand pistol

How about being more creative and using the next Set of Elite Specializations to actually implement also NEW Weapons, than doing again a boring round of “Give only existing Weapons to the Classes”

Having this in my, this is the List how i hope, that Round 2 will look like in the future with a mixture of new as like existin weapons given out:

Warrior = Legionnaire > Long Shield > Utility: Legions (Minions)
Guardian = Inquisitor > Halberd > Utility: Physicals
Revenant = Ritualist > Scepter > Legend: Master Togo

Engineer = Alchemist > Axe > Utility: Signets or Survival
Thief = Rogue > Longbow > Utility: Kits
Ranger = Beastlord > Whip > Utility: Tricks

Elementalist = Arcanist > Sword > Utility: Spheres (Banners)
Necromancer = Torturer > Torch > Utility: Stigmas
Mesmer = Minstrel > Warhorn > Utility: Songs (Shouts )

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

i doubt we will see new weapon any time soon, as they will have to create skins for them to match the amount of the current weapons.
only if they take the water weapons to the land, so there is not a big catch up. but totally new weapons? highly doubtfull

I think this thread is more for fun than anything. It’s pretty cool to wonder at the possibilities, but it doesn’t hurt to have a reminder not to get too focused on any one idea.

Guardian: Rifle – HOLY BOLTS, have a neat idea for a sort of long range siege guardian, think Alexander from Final Fantasy.

Okay, nevermind, I take back what I said. That would be fantastic but only if the projectiles were noticeably NOT plain bullets. Guardians fit Alexander surprisingly well haha.
