There has been debate in the past as to where Precursors might drop. Well, I’ve discovered scientific evidence that anything and everything that drops loot, can drop a Precursor.

Just me and 2 other guys attacking SWT in YB BL. Doing our normal killing the guards and dropping Rams. Well, I saw a shiny image scroll past my eyes when I auto-looted. I looked in my bag as I was running to grab supply, and RNG blesses me with Tooth of Frostfang. To double check, I looked at my loot log, and confirms that the Tower Guard NPC we cleared dropped it.

Its been a debate in the past? We’ve known precursors can drop pretty much anywhere, yes including WvW.

I………don’t recall this ever really being debated. Maybe at launch? But……that’s about it.

You can look every item up on the wiki and it says how to obtain it.
Congrats on the drop but this isn’t scientific breaking news

No one’s every shown proof of Precursors dropping in WvW. I figured I’d do the public a favor.

Isn’t this like your third precursor in just a short period of time, a few months? Congrats.

If it can be from anywhere….. would hate to know that I was the WvW player whose bag dropped a precursor

yup. got my Dusk from a south camp veteran guard…. a guildie got The Legend from the veteran Warg.

Most likely noone thought it was even needed. The fact that every place where you can drop level 80 exotics can net you a precursor has been known for over 2 years now.

There rare as hen’s teeth for the individual but it happens daily across the entire playerbase.

Just because you don’t win the lottery doesn’t mean nobody did.

I’ve been playing guild wars 2 for the past 3 years more than 3000hours in-game. Mainly I am at 98% at PVE. I went to WvW once for fun to raise my rank for some hours and I got my only precursor there until now. Ironic?

Yah. I dislike the gambling nature of the mystic forge but one day I decided to start throwing 4 random cheap rares in once every few days to try for new skins. After a few times, I got The Colossus.

There have been a couple threads over the last years with wvw precursor drop proof. There was even one about “farming veteran harpy for precursor”.

Yea they can drop, but drop rate is like 0.05% so you are lucky one.
