I was doing a CoF run when I noticed one of my party members had a purple aura, but he/she was unable to see it. What could it be?

It’s not a weapon/item effect. It seems to be more of a graphical error that sometimes happens, especially when you consider the player is a mesmer and they usually have these kind of effects.

Looks like a graphical error when the mesmer shattered and it kept the effect. I’ve had it before with guardian shelter healing skill, keeping the gfx effect but stil able to use skills and stuff.

It looks so pretty! Take my gold, buy me 1 graphical error please! Hehe

I’ve started to run into a lot of graphical bugs, NPCs sliding past as moving statues, people getting stuck (visually) mid skill, mobs dying but not going through death animation, instead just leaving behind a static after image, tons of players showing up as just blank manikins with basic armor.
I expect this is just another one, especially since only you can see it.

If you look at the picture it’s not anything like Quip’s glow.

I’d say it’s just a graphical glitch that occurred when they shattered their illusions.

I’m seeing glitches where player images run endlessly in one spot and a couple of times, images of my own char standing frozen in one spot for a long period of time. Another time my char was wearing both the underwater helm and an outfit helm at the same time even though he was on land and I removed the outfit.

There’s a few graphical glitches in the game.
The purple glow by mesmers.
The green glow and buzzing sound from necros.
Seeing your clone running in one place, typically happens when you come out of lich form.
Locked in a stance like the airplane, or praying to the gods.

If they also happen to look slightly pinkish color that is not a bug.
