Proposal Overview
I believe the map system in the game “Heroes and Generals” is very well done. It have a very detailed supply line links between towns and outposts. GW2 should adopt this system, for both World Events and WvW.
Goal of Proposal
Battles are often won by outflanking the enemy and cutting off their supply line. I believe that GW2 can in-cooperate this strategic aspect into the game play.
I have 2 goals:
1)Break up the zerg mentality. You zerg will lose if a small 5 man havoc team cut off your supplies.
2) Introduce strategy when fighting humans in WvW and mobs in World Events.
Proposal Functionality
1) If the players hold an area, but lose their supply line for over 5 minutes, the supplies inside the area will start dropping. Once that reach zero, the players will suffer a 5% hp lost per second. In 5 more minutes, this will increase to 10% hp per second. This will force them to come out of the area and try to re-establish the supply line.
2) And hence, the players must leave behind a small team to guard their supply lines, just like real life. Else, they may be forced to leave an area due to lack of supplies.
3) The players will need to select a “general” to oversee the whole operation. He (or a group) will need to ensure the players’ supply lines are maintained while cutting the enemies’ supply lines.
Associated Risks
1) Not every player of GW2 are a RTS fan. So initially they may view this new change negatively.
2) The strategy aspect maybe too hard for the current mob AI to handle. A new employee (formerly worked for a RTS) may need to be hired to work on the AI.

The map is designed to be as simple and easy to understand as possible. So yeah, I don’t see this happening sorry.
Sweet Jeebus! – I was, like, 15 seconds into that video…and wanted to harm myself.
If that’s your idea of fun…no wonder you’re bumping your own topic.
No, no…and a resounding NO.
Bumping threads is against the forum rules, I wouldn’t recommend doing it again.
As for your suggestion, I think something like this could work to make objective defense more important, but this needs some flavor and most of all clear phsyically visible and tactile cues to make sure players know what to do.

Yeah I got 1 Infraction Point for that. I didn’t know about this new rule they got. I used to bump threads and never got infraction points.
Do you know how many infraction points until I get banned?
