Just had 12+ commanders on one pve map in same event….not only is it horrible to see 12 of them on your screen but it also completely clogs up your mini maps aswell.

Are WvW Commander books not for oh I dunno WvW? Should they be restricted to WvW use only and not PVE?

Was not so bad at launch and few months but now its like 15 commanders in pve all in the same place..

How long until it’s 50 commanders?

Well, I think each map has a commander cap. Though I don’t know what it is.

My problem with commanders is that you can just buy it with gold. Which makes no sense for it’s use.

saw a lvl 30 something sylvari with a commander tag yesterday who keeps dying when trying to kill fire elemental. i chuckle a bit. so yea it is getting out of hand. but i don’t think we can do much about it. the $$ has spoken.

I wish they would add a filter to remove the icons from your map. That would probably be the best thing to do. 90% of the commanders you see only bought it to make their kitten bigger.

You want a filter or just want to clean up your minimap? Pro-tip, join the squad of one of the commanders (yes it does work outside of wvw). Bam, now you only see 1 commander tag on the map.

Also, people use commander tags for guild missions and use squad chat to help coordinate getting the bounty without clogging up guild chat. This is amazing cause it keeps things very organised and you don’t accidentally wp to a different map when your grou kitten upposed to find the bounty on your own map.

They said that the last update was going to give more options for commanders but that didn’t happen. Heres hoping it does in a few days time. Personally I want a few new/different commander icons that could be more PVE specific.

For example you could have a medic icon for commanders who want to advertise they are around to res people if they die. You could have a “?” or something for someone who likes to mentor others so players can pm them with questions etc. Options like these could really help build up the community imo.

Because that cant possibly be someones alt thats play since launch who gave their alt a commander tag…. lol

All we need is some way to suppress all the garbage from the minimap. Is that so much to ask?

that icon should be earned and the person should do something to deserve it. not kitten just throw 100g for it.

You get legendaries through money, not merit
You get commander titles through money, not merit

Everything worth having in this game is bought with money, and not earned… This issue isn’t going to be fixed, so get used to it

What annoys me even more are commanders that have no idea what they are doing in WvW, and to an extent, those who mindlessly follow their awful orders…

And when I see a commander in PvE that I have never seen in WvW, I wonder what’s the point of wearing the tag.
