We’ve seen the PvP side of the game get streams, but how about PvE? Are there any plans for the community to do some Q&A with respect to how PvE is right now?

A while back, Guru had said that they got some ArenaNet devs that were up for it and that it would start soon. Nothing ever came of it, though.

It’s not going to happen. GW2 is an e-sport according to the devs. PvP balance is the only balance that matters.

So yeah….don’t get your hopes up.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos

There’s still plans. What are the things needed for one?

There’s really some topics that need to be discussed with devs, but most of the people here might direct concepts like rewards, difficulties, etc. A good starting point would be how to balance encounters or players, such as NPC AI dynamics, and encounter design/layout.

Its no one to host it that is the problem…

The devs(and guru) were willing to do a monthly or bimonthly SOTG for both PvE & WvW but no one would host. Only sPvP found a willing host…

So, its not surprising they balance around sPvP when the PvE & WvW community are not interested…

I think there are plenty of players that would be willing to host it, but (and this is a big one) there are certain aspects of pve that by it’s very nature the devs would not want to talk about. We could be assured that there would have to be an approved topic outline prior to it, which imo would really make it pointless.

Some points that may be addressed:

Profession balance…….rangers..etc
Condition caps
Reward balance….cof p1 vs arah p4 (this would have to have a narrow focus)
Orr/Southsun
Temporary content

Things that would not be allowed:

RNG precursors
RNG boxes
RNG gem shop items
Trading Post manipulation
Public Test Server
Bugs that have been in game for extended periods of time

Ofc these are just examples and the lists go on and on, but the point remains that it simply could not be as cut and dry as a spvp stog. Therefor any relevance that we might derive from such an affair would be questionable….ie the info we get won’t be worth setting it up since the dialect will be very controlled and generalized.

Again… just like stated on Guru… this makes absolutely no sense. Especially the part about basing Balancing itself on that generalization. I’d also point out that PvE itself doesn’t have “wannabe Shoutcasters”. It has small tightknit guilds of folks who use Teamspeak every day and improvise communication-wise just fine. They don’t need to “Host” anything, they just need some of these Devs to agree to run some dungeons/temples with them in a team and record the Results. There’s no lack of personality or spontaneity in these players just b/c they run much more scripted encounters. Many of them are perfectly capable of carrying a conversation….

For starters, get MaskedParadigm in there… ppl would watch it just for the entertainment value.

If I remember rightly there were plenty of people from the community who were willing to host it, but with Anet dev’s and CM’s being so busy with everything they have to do scheduling time with them was proving difficult.

There’s also the fact that the show would soon become boring with enthusiastic players saying what about this, and what about that with the dev’s being unable to commit either way to the suggestions being in or out. and to timescales.

In other words it would be like trying to interview politicians
