Which class is better for PvE?

Warrior. The class has it all, so why play anything else? It’s THAT good.

But I also hear it’s boring as all hell

boring is relative to the time you’ve spent playing a game – success is not (if you’re a warrior)

Damage
Mesmer trumps the Warrior, but takes the time to pump out the 3 phantasms to do so. In a shorter fight, the Warrior does more damage.

Support
Incomparable. Mesmer offers in a form of reflections, boon/condi removal, stealth in a Thief absence and AOE quickness. Warrior offers offensive support via banners, “burst” might and fury (For Great Justice), and a warbanner for difficult content.

Survivability
Mesmer is easier to survive as, due to perma vigor, blurred frenzy and distortion. Warrior has the higher armor and health, so is more forgiving.

Both are a fitting part of a meta. There is no right answer.

Ignore anybody who says Warrior is the highest damage, they are straight up wrong and their belief in that matter negates any validity that come from their mind.

No group needs a third Warrior, better options become available. If you intend on PUGging, these Warrior roles are easily filled, and after a few kicks you will stumble across 2 adequate Warriors. PUG Mesmer on the other hand is very difficult to find, as any that join will just be 1200 range camping with a GS.

Warrior is as generic as it gets. I can think of a ton of different areas of PvE where I’d rather have a mesmer any day tbh. Boon sharing, stealth, reflects, aoe quickness, portal, etc. Mesmer just has a higher skill ceiling to be optimal though. If you intend on getting into PvP at all, mesmers eat warriors for lunch. Your call really.

dont get me wrong i main a mesmer and u get to do smoe nice dmg, but problem with mes is ai and in large aoe heavy fights like bossfights our ai is dying quickly. the warrior can keep pressure on a n enemy while mesmer has to wait for more phantasms that are on cd. phantasms are buggy atm too and iwarden is useless since the bug.
so during the scarlet attacks wher lots of mobs and champion spawned, i got only a few bags out of it whereas on my lowbie war i got loot left and right. in those zergy mob fights it is hard to get credit for the kills on your mesmer as war takes them down very quickly.
but like mentioned on top our reflects are epic especially in dungeons. plus we got some nice support features on mes.

Warrior is gw2 on Easy mode as some say and is true. Is also true mesmer can dodge more because of vigor but they gonna nerf that so yeah. Warrior!

Once a mesmer pumps 3 phantasms up, they can have similar results as a warrior (zerker). However, depending on the location and situation, clones tend to die fast.

Warrior on the other hand has a steady dmg. If you can have a perfect rotation with GS + Axes (or A/M) the damage is very good. However, mesmers have better ways to nullify attacks.

Both are good at giving boons. Where the mesmer shines is with all the reflections, stealth and of course, portal. Both are great and will come down to how good you play them, and how much you like their styles.

For exemple, these past weeks, i enjoyed more my warrior while doing the marionette and the wurms event. I don’t know how much people i saved with my battle standard, felt very useful to my team. General attakcs with all weapons hit multiple targets, so i found it easier to just clear lanes with my war. However, i find myself more useful running with my mesmer when doing fractals.

Best thing to do is like me, run both, If you don’t have the time or the money to equip both, go with your guts and what YOU like, not what people will tell you to like.

I just wish Mesmer actually swung their sword
